If i remember correctly, Oda originally meant for Ace to be Luffy's real life brother until his editor suggested that Ace be Gol D Roger's son. Which is why Ace and Luffy look so similar yet arent actually related by blood. Either way, i still say they are brothers. I have brothers that arent related to me because we grew up together and are brothers.

So I do have some thoughts on this. 1) How would Luffy get to Sabaody, or even traverse the Grand Line without a navigator? I think that is a deep detail that went unnoticed in this voyage, and he might've ended up dying to nature. Although I will let it slide for the sake of the voyage since it would be no fun that way. 2) I don't think Ace would end up recruiting Zoro or Chopper because of their situations. Nami's a little tricky, but I think he can recruit her if he can beat the Arlong Pirates. This is also a path I'll let slide, especially since it doesn't impact the story much. 3) Now this one I'm not sure I can let slide. I'm pretty sure Whitebeard would not even attempt to kill Luffy in any of their fights. Currently, I'm only at Whole Cake Island, but have listened in on the second half of Wano to today, so correct me if I'm wrong, but Luffy would need to "die" in order to awaken his devil fruit, correct? If that is the case, then I don't see Luffy ever awakening in his battles against Whitebeard, which changes a lot in itself.

I have an idea of a devil fruit. The Empa Empa fruit. It's a zoan type fruit. (Empanada, the goddess of pandas.) This fruit gives you the power to become a panda. The halfway form would be a panda head human body. When you're in the half panda form, bamboo sticks are just as sharp as a katana and strong as emeralds. You can climb easier. The downside is you're very tempted to eat the bamboo sticks, you get very tired easily, and you get side character syndrome.
