A massive point to consider is that it is very likely that if Magnus was spared and joined the Loyalist Perterabo would go back to being a loyalist as A.) Magnus is perty's only friend and considering how emotionally unstable he was due to killing his sister and world would go to the ONE other person he truly cares about. 2.) If Magnus could be forgiven for fucking up that massively so would Perty.

Loyalist Perturabo, Magnus, and the Emperor, Hersey would probably only last an hour
@evanulven82498 ай бұрын
A loyal Perty alone would have ended the Heresy in its tracks. Him combined with Robust Gigachad would curbstomp Horus so hard the Egyptian deity would feel it.

Of course the Emperor would forgive Magnus. That’s what happened after he got that text-to-speech device hooked up, after all. 😎

Im just getting into 40k and watched a lot of your videos now. And your reactions to other 40k youtubers are my favorites. Because i not only get for example Majorkills view and knowledge but also your expert opinion and knowledge. Keep it up Old Man haha :D

Also remember the Main way Lemen tried to talk to Magnus was through a human they captured as an unwitting spy and believed Magnus controlled despite the fact that it was a deamon they had seen during the Trial of Magnus and one of the 'Rune Priests' confirmed was not human or Space Marine when they dived into the poor bastard's head.

Tzeentch would have made a thousand contingencies for every occasion. As for you saying about the Emperor not being dumb enough to shoot himself in the foot, you might want to react to this series called the Mistakes of the Emperor.

the grey knights might have not been founded. their role might have gone to the thousand sons under ahrimans command.

The space Wolf that Loken was friends with seemed to be a pretty all right dude(I can't remember his name right now but he was in Wolfsbane, and vengeful spirit, he seems to have a pretty level head on his shoulders, especially since malcador seemed to trust him not to rip Loken's head off unless he absolutely had to)

The thing is that Horus intercepted the Emperors orders and Changed them... If Magnus would have surrendered Leman would have killed him and the Thousand Sons without a fight. Edit: ok you touched on this and I seem to have forgotten Lemans side of the story.

quite a wholesome intro duo there by Majorkill, he's quite muted with how he talks in the video, probably because it's one of his later ones. Honestly the idea of this video too is something fiercely debated by the fandom for years upon years. I'd put it up there with the (comparatively recent) fall of Angron, and how the Emperor's treatment of some of his sons absolutely makes him a villain. The Siege of Terra showcases people who were the Emperor's peers, who were either always with him, or thought his methods too brash, too ambitious (best examples being Ollanius Pius and Erda). People don't like the idea of the Perpetuals, I certainly don't, but these specific characters showcased an alternate path. If only the Emperor wasn't...the Emperor, with His massive fucking ego and unstoppable determination. I guess you need those to stand toe to toe with the literal Gods of Chaos, but still... So much of it is unnecessary, but I guess that's why 40k is a tragedy. None of it is ideal, or even any good for its inhabitants, since the very start, and we like it that way.

The main thing I like about Ollanius Pius is the narrative compare and contrast potential. Two immortals wishing the best for humanity taking *very* different paths. For similar reasons, I kinda want to see (or maybe write if I ever figure out how) a DOOM crossover where Doom Slayer ends up on Terra during the Unification Wars and ends up opposing the Emperor.

The Vulcan Magnus conversation in Echoes is hard to interpret, like Vulcan said Magnus was deceiving him self most of all. We have zero idea as to how much of the conversation is just in Magnus’ own imagination.

Personally, I'd like a video on what if Horus surrendered to the Interex. But this is cool too
@darksider29038 ай бұрын
Horus did. Interex asked him to take off all his armour and weapons so that he could meet their leaders. Horus went to change, when he came back with just in robe, he saw his legion and interex were already started fighting. It was erebus who stole the sword and started the fire then two sides started fighting against eachother. Horus was quite mad and sad to see such thing, he thought interex attacked and he ordered his legion to decimate them with heavy heart

Sending the guy that brags about being the Emperor's Executioner, who is in charge of a legion that is only a tiny bit better then post butcher's nails World Eaters was a monumentally stupid idea.

The problem with traveling to Terra to warn the Emperor of Horus's corruption is the same reason Magnus decided to break into the Throne Room remotely in the first place. That is, how much damage Horus could do during the travel time. It's a relatively short jump, sure, but it's still a *lot* slower than psychic projection. There's also the problem of the Emperor probably not believing that his favorite son could betray him regardless of how Magnus gets the message across. Not to mention how Magnus got the information in the first place. So Istvan might still happen, though Magnus would be in a much better position to say "I told you so." As for how Magnus could've avoided the whole mess on Prospero, I think ordering his legion to stay planet-side and *not* make any aggressive moves was a good idea. I also think he should've said something like "I screwed up massively and intend to surrender to the mercies of the Emperor" before leaving in a personal ship with a minimal crew. I somewhat suspect that Magnus's ego wouldn't allow him to admit his mistake quite so publicly, though.

In the end honestly no one should be mad at Magnus since GW WANTED him to fall, so there was nothing that could be done.

Emperor: I forgive you Magnus. Can you please take over for me on the Throne while I fix the everything? Magnus: What about my legion and flesh their flesh change? What actually happened: Emperor: Don’t worry Magnus, we’ll get you a new legion when this is over. Magnus: I don’t want a new legion! I want my Thousand Sons! How it should have happened: Emperor: As soon as I can I’ll do anything possible to save as many of your sons as can be. Magnus: That’s not good enough. If you could save them, why have you not done so already? Emperor: The only true way to stop the Flesh Change is to destroy Chaos which, you know, what the Great Crusade would have accomplished if you kids hadn’t decided to have a temper tantrum. Magnus: Don’t get snippy with me. How was I supposed to connect the corruption of my warp powered legion with the corrupting energies of the… oh, I see your point. Emperor: Just get on the damn Golden Throne, Magnus. Magnus: Fine. But it bloody well better not be all sweaty.
