I had a severe case of low ferritin as well mainly because of my neglecting primary care physician. My levels of ferritin was at an 8 and my endocrinologist is the one who ordered the test not my primary care physician. My endocrinologist basically was like how she’s surprised I’m still walking because my levels were dangerously low. I went to my primary care physician explaining to her my symptoms and she kept telling me my results were normal and that I was “slightly” anemic. I kept booking her and she would just tell me the same thing even though I told her I was having hair loss , dry skin , thirstiness, lack of sleep , fatigue , and a dry white tongue. She referred me to the rheumatologist but everything was normal. So I’ve decided to see someone else because my pcp (primary care physician) was no help at all and I felt awful my symptoms were getting worse and I had no treatment I’ve been feeling this way since August of 2020 it is now 2022 and I just started getting treatment of iron supplements in December of 2021. Thank god for my endocrinologist and for my eagerness to get better. Had I not seen her I probably would’ve died. And that’s how I felt , like I was dying 🤦🏼‍♀️. I’ve been seeing a number of different doctors n constantly been drawing blood but they said they everything was normal. Eventually all of that takes a toll on you s, and I became depressed. I knew something was seriously wrong with me and I felt horrible but doctors kept saying everything was normal but that’s not how I felt this is where I feel that my depression stemmed from. To know that your unwell and doctors keep saying that there’s nothing wrong with u , you feel helpless. The doctor that diagnosed me with depression was a different endocrinologist and he was a male doctor, I told him all my symptoms thinking he could help me but all he did was blame my depression for causing all the symptoms I had. So I left in frustration and even more sad I felt like he wasn’t even listening to me. He just kept saying it’s your depression you have moderate depression. And he prescribed me Paxil which I just considered his opinion because I literally was at my wits end , I didn’t know what was going on with me so I was willing to try that and see if I could get better. I took the pill at night as he suggested, I woke up in the middle of the night feeling very drugged and started having diarrhea , I felt very nauseous and was vomiting. So that was that I never touched that pill bottle again. My point here is sometimes it’s the doctors that are the problem. My primary care physician knew I was anemic and didn’t prescribe me iron pills. If I hadn’t seen the endocrinologist I would have been dead and she would have been sued for malpractice and the death of a patient which could have been easily avoided with treatment. I will be seeing a hematologist soon as well to get further treatment and to make sure everything is ok. My endocrinologist referred me to the hematologist because they help with blood disorders/diseases and one of them is iron deficiency anemia. I hope this helps people to advocate for themselves especially if you know something is wrong and your doctor is not as proactive as they should be or even neglecting you.

@@sviatlanakarpovich4643 my Ferritin levels were at 9 in January. I took double the dose of Mega Foods Blood Builder and my test from my lab draw a few days ago was 30. It went up 21 points in just under a month. The Mega Foods Blood Builder is amazing. If you don't have low stomach acids or other issues with absorption try those for a month or so before you start with iron infusions and other unnatural protocols from doctors.

I’m so sorry you went through that 🖤 I have a similar story, I hope you are doing better now. How has your health journey been in the past year? What treatments did you do? Did iron supplements help and if so, how long until you saw benefits from them?

This is absolute nonsense. She has a serious condition (low Ferritin) and you should have asked about key symptoms of Iron deficiency AND referred her to her GP. Please look up the Iron clinic in London, they have great resources or find the anemia community online for resources. Your advice here is alarmingly vague and outright wrong!

I do not know anything about your case nor even what is in this product and cannot answer that question. Generally a temporary carnivore diet based on red meat, liver, and clams would be the fastest way to correct iron deficiency anemia with food.

Iron defiency is very common in menstruating women. Low ferritin shows that your stores are depleted. I would take an Iron supplement and take it with a vitamin C source (vitamin c pill, orange juice, etc) Colonoscopies are recommended in the 50s and beyond but as you still menstruate I would look at that as a source of the iron depletion since you are losing blood, esp. if the periods are heavy. I am not a doctor, but a patient with a similar issue to you. Hope it helps

You need red meat. We have eaten it daily for hundreds of thousands of years. It does not cause cancer or heart disease those are debunked myths.

I’ve always had varying low ferritin,… my last result was 24 At 59, I’ve continuously been symptomatic, while all being chalked uP to Fibromyalgia, as I entered my 3rd Chapter of life !! For the first time, my Doctor’s nurse suggested I supplement with a low dose of 25mg, and just after one week, I’m already improving,… my breathing is noticeably better, having deeper sleep and I just feel more alert than I ever have 🤗 >>>Better late than never, but I am a little more than pissed that not ONE professional ever suggested supplementing with iron, if only to see if it could make a difference ?? As I’m typing this, I’m realizing I haven’t had much of, if any daily anxiety/irritability,… this small inexpensive pill seems to have been the long lost piece of the puzzle I’ve been searching for several decades… lOve & Healing to all who read this 🫶🏼
