I've been wanting to do some experimenting with how I draw female characters in terms of faces, body types, general proportions and so on, so... Mythical creatures as Superheroes! Specifically I'm going to be randomly flipping through this super cool book of stylized DnD creature drawings called 'Dungeons & Drawings.' Now in terms of experimenting, I also want to try some anime and manga style designs. Not so much in rendering, but in facial structure. Dunno if I'll like it, but lets see! Anyway, spoiler alert, but the creatures I end up transforming are an Earth Elemental, a Basilisk, a Phoenix and a Qilin! Also if I'd realized at the time I was making this that Phoenix's were such a big part of Mulan I probably would have played that drawing a bit differently, but oh well. :P

In the original legends, Qilins (Kirin in Japan) are beings so pure and divine that they dare not hurt any living being, even bugs. The way they walk is almost as if they were flying.

As someone who has suffered through unending "varied body types for women as drawn by men", I was deeply wary of this, which made me all the more excited when things were genuinely varied. They're all really beautiful characters, but they're not nearly as same-y in body shape as I was prepared for, and I can't thank you enough for that

It has been fun to watch your use of light, shadow and contrast evolve as you've been doing the channel. Your art is making leaps every time you make a video and your understanding of shapes is made clear as your use of said lighting gets better and better. Hey Kristian this was amazing I still havent started on my community redraw, my character is kinda from avatar and the mcu her name is Kaitlin and her ancestors were water benders and over time all the benders lost there ways and she falls upon ancient ruins which shows her how to water bend. That's just a sneak peak.

I submitted my drawing for the redraw just a couple days ago. I put a lot of work into her. I'm glad I did an AU version of her instead of her original version, otherwise there'd be so much backstory you could write a novel, rather than the quick thing I threw together with the help of my friend that I submitted. I'm excited to see what you think! I've been following this channel for nearly a year now, and I've become a much better artist because of it. Shay Stone is absolutely fantastic, excellent proportions, great colors and design and LOVE her story! Belle Bastille is also very well designed and colored and what a great concept of taking a basilisk and converting it into a heroine! Also great work on going outside your comfort zone and also showcasing a body type that doesn't usually get the love it deserves! If the character design of the "stereotypical" female body type fits the character then there should be no issues, and I don't think it's boring at all!

I have a great idea for a community redraw for November. Make a Rwby styled weapon( a transforming multiform thing) and then you draw a character to go with it. So not your typical just a character, but would also be interesting to see all the extra details since it’s just a weapon

Oh hey here’s a lil teaser for what I’m doing for the September redraw. Imagine groot, venom and ironmans nanotech suit but as a mashed up alien character. So basically it’s some kind of slimy thing who can create other things from his body lol. I put it in a bunch of poses and gave it a ton of different weapons. Btw im just kinda stealing their powers. It looks nothing like them XD. But I hope you’ll like the final design!
