The end of the final valley fight would go something like this: Sakura would stop Sasuke's bleeding, not heal his wounds, but certainly stop the bleeding, and that's when she says to him, "This is a final mercy I can give you, as a former teammate and someone I used to love." Because it will also be in that moment that she realizes that she actually loves Naruto, like, for real loves him. She would think back to the fake relationship and notice all of the times his goofball antics made her laugh, and how much she just enjoys spending time with him. It would be the decisive moment when she cut ALL ties to Sasuke - permanently.

@@dani.rose_ The Hokage, and the other Kage's for that matter, have always been portrayed as having a lot of paperwork. That's the downside of being a dictatorship/autocracy/Junta. What always got me however, was that Naruto didn't absolutely abuse the hell out of his shadowclones for doing the paperwork. I would have made like 100 of them and relaxed, only dealing with things that needed personal attention like delegations. But I do agree with what the OP said, I do think Sakura would be better at reigning in Naruto to be at home, considering she's able to be there for Sarada despite her being just as busy as Naruto.

I'd love a conversation between Sakura and Kakashi, before the confession, where she expresses how distraught she is with the constant danger Naruto is in because he's desperate to get Sasuke back. And she realizes she's been thinking much more about Naruto's safety than Sasuke's return. Kakashi points that out as well. That's when she realizes she cares about Naruto more more and confesses her feelings. Naruto doesn't give up on Sasuke, but understands Sakura's feelings aren't out of the blue, they've been building up for a while. By the end, I don't agree Sasuke should die, but he should be exiled from the village. In a final conversation between him and Sakura, where she escorts him out (mirroring the time she begged him to stay), she tells him his actions have consequences. Naruto's unconditional love for his best friend (and reincarnated brother) seems to forgive it all, but she won't. The village won't. She bids him goodbye and says he should work on being a good person, and maybe he'll meet someone who loves him along the way. Konoha might have failed the Uchiha, but his own choices made it the last living Uchiha someone who brought only pain to the world. And then he's left to break the cycle of hatred on his own.

You know, you're description of Naruto/Sakura's child sounded eerily similar to how one would describe Hashirama, but without the Wood Style lol. Large chakra pool, sage mode, ungodly mastery of chakra control (Which, to me, ties into the idea of how Senjus are knows for their ability to master just about everything), very strong and super fast, and the Byakuya seal allowing the child to have a version of Hashirama's healing factor.

Think they would’ve been a great ship. I think it would’ve showed great character development if around that Land of Iron arc she actually stuck with the realization of how far gone Sasuke was and that she couldn’t love someone like that. Then throughout the series they continued the development of her feelings and thoughts of naruto. Like when they saw each other for the first time after the time skip and she was blushing, and then the bridge scene (where naruto lost control of kurama), the Pain arc when she hugged him and Sai telling her that basically Naruto still has feelings for her. Not to mention the kushina flashback which and she said “marry someone like me”. The first time Kushina met Naruto she bonked him on the head lol. There was so much there and I think kishimoto was trying to leave room for either ship until the end.

Plot-wise, I can agree that nothing much actually changes except the fact that Hinata would be really sad, the fact that Sasuke may not have children since he didn't seem particularly close to any women in his life, and the Jōgan not existing because Boruto not existing. Hypothetically, I think Naruto and Sakura's family life would be busy with them having such important job positions. Sadly, their children would have even MORE limited time with both parents compared to Boruto and Himiwari. That could be the source of intense family drama and tension if worse comes to worse. The hypothetical children's combat power and overall intelligence (combat and book-wise) could be insane though. If those children had Naruto's Uzumaki chakra pools on top of Sakura's masterful chakra control their battle attrition and damage output could be devastating. It would be akin to be able to compress the explosive elements of a missile into a surgical scalpel without losing any of that power. And that's not even counting them potentially learning Sage Mode, the shadow clone training technique, Rasengan and its variants, and the Byakugō seal. If that stars aligned correctly and the children trained correctly the children could become akin to Multiple Tsunade Senju's zipping around the battlefield that could heal others from the brink of death, whip out an vast arsenal of Rasengans,obscure

Great content! Though if Naruto accepted Sakura's confession wouldnt she be dead? Her plan, as I recall, was to convince Naruto to give up on Sasuke and then go alone to assassinate him. If he went along with her confession he either wouldve been drugged asleep like the rest of her team or sent back home while she went to assassinate Sasuke solo. She then wouldve hesitated and Kakashi being to slow to save her in that moment and no Naruto to rush in and save the day, wouldve been merc'd right then and there. I got an interesting Hypothetical. TenTen was made weaker then she was meant to be because Lee and Neji didn't die when they were supposed to. And Sai wasn't meant to be apart of Team 7 in Shippuden, but TenTen herself. And it would make sense story wise. With Sauske gone and Neji and Lee dead, Tenten was meant to move over to team 7 with Naruto and Sakura. And a story for Tenten could easily be made. She want't to get revenge on Kidomaru and Kimimaru for killing her squadmates back during the konoah crush arc. Then later on, would have to fight against an Edo Tensied Neji and Lee. Which could lead to some more interesting things during the war arc. The Neji there was supposed to be an Edo Tensei Neji, and seeing the danger coming towards Hinata and Naruto, and knowing that he doesn't have a lot of time left as an Edo Tensei, he steps in the way to take the blow for Naruto and Hinata. Then for Guy. What if Night Guy was never supposed to happen, but an Edo Tensei 8th gate Lee was meant to try and take down Madara instead, but fail.

From a plot perspective, your hypothetical presumes that Sakuras confession is still fake and that Naruto just goes along with it. My biggest issue with this is that Sakuras confession shouldn’t have been fake- every episode leading up to that confession is infused with introspection and flashbacks that provide evidence for Sakura authentically falling in love with Naruto. Then we just get betrayed with another reason to hate Sakura…I really wanted that confession to be real. Hell, Naruto could have still rejected her or said “I love you too but I’m not turning my back on my friend” But the fact that Naruto sacrificed himself for her time and time again and she is still in love with her first teenage crush who has done nothing but bully her makes no sense at all

Honestly when I was first watching and reading Naruto I thought Naruto and Sakura would end up together. Then when I got to around the 5 kage summit arc my friend who already watched and read the series told me who Boruto’s mom was and spoiled that part for me😭😂😂 Edit: if Naruto and Sakura I happened I don’t think it would’ve been becuz he fell for Sakura’s “confession”, Naruto would still see through the lie. But the story between them would’ve had to be slightly different, like I imagine Naruto would’ve avoided her/semi shunned her for a bit. And then when he rescues her from white zetsu when he first got kcm they would prolly have a mini conversation abt it and then agree to talk when the war was done/dealt with or sum like that and from there that’s where their relationship would start to be developed. And while that’s going on, Sasuke goes on his journey and finds himself a baddie from another village I guess lmao And I imagine if Sakura and Naruto ended up together, it would’ve been revealed that she has some connection to the Otsutsuki (perhaps through the 100 healings seal, like maybe only Otsutsuki descendants can achieve the 100 healings). Also unrelated note: Base Boruto is pretty lit bro bro just not as strong as Otsutsuki Boruto. Your scenario is kinda complicated because if Sakura or Naruto kills sasuke during the final valley than their kinda screwed considering the fact they actually needed both Sasuke and Naruto in order to release the Tsukuyomi, along with the fact that naruto isn't really that cold hearted since his goal in the world was yes to bring sasuke back but also have the whole world acknowledge who he really is instead being seen as some monster. I think Naruto & Hinata in Boruto are adorable, and I think by the time of the Fourth Great Shinobi War, Naruto absolutely cared for her in the same way he cared for all his friends, if not moreso than most (like by that point, probably only Sakura & Shikamaru are closer to him out of the core group)... but I also think they were a bit shoehorned together by "The Last". People always point to him losing his shit when Pain stabbed her as proof that he was already in love with her, but I feel like he would've lost it if any of his friends would've been cut down in front of him like that. Their strongest moment together was absolutely immediately after Neji's death when he's just on the verge of giving into Obito and she breaks him out of it. And of course standing together at Neji's funeral. *That being said* - I feel like everyone always glosses over the fact that like 15mins later when Edo-Minato shows up and sees Sakura healing him, he asks "Hey, are you Naruto's girlfriend?" and Naruto *without hesitating*, very enthusiastically is like "YEA YEA YOU COULD SAY THAT" (which she then headbutts him over). Then like 5mins later when the entire group charges the Ten Tails' Fission creatures, after Sakura charges ahead and Naruto/Sasuke each take out one of the giant ones threatening her, and she's immediately all "Sasuke-kun!", Naruto's just in the back like "I'm here too...", very dejectedly. The point being, even in the midst of all that - he's *still* hung up on Sakura until practically the end of the series. Granted, "The Last" is (I think)2-3 years after the end of Shippuden, so that does give time for Naruto & Hinata to grow closer after the War and have their relationship develop into a real thing, but given that we only see that through "The Last", it *does* end up feeling forced... at least, to me.

You forgot... who ever the child was could also inherit Minatos speed/Genius. So Sakuras strenght and control, Healings Seal, Some percent Narutos Chakara pool, add in the fllying raijin and genius level jutsu learning.. A character with high regeneration, high access to chakura who hits in taijustu like a truck and is so fast it might as well be considered space time jutsu, access to sage mode who doesn't actually need to use flashy justu to do damage so cant be deflected or defeated by justsu canceling/reflection ability.
