Hell yeah, Matt! Even though Johnson won 10 times in 2007, I feel like Matt Kenseth would have had a really good shot at winning it IRL because he ran up front and led laps in almost every race, but he had so much bad luck, he wrecked A LOT. In this video, I knew if Matt made the final 4 he’d obviously win the championship because he won Homestead that year, but I was honestly worried he wouldn’t have made the final 4 because of how much bad luck he had in the first five races.

Great video man. Something is just so funny to me thinking about this video, when Johnson won 10 races and the championship in 2007, people say he didn't deserve it but I am willing to guarantee that if someone won 10 races now and lost the championship everyone would be crying a river saying they were robbed a title. A champion is a champion no matter what format NASCAR uses and to those who hate this format, there has been even worse
@ThatDudeNamedDale5 жыл бұрын
This is a season where the playoff format really detatches from what we saw. Gordon and Johnson absolutely obliterated the competition this season, nearly HALF of all points paying races were won by just these two drivers. Gordon set a record of 30 Top 10 finishes this season. Honestly for Kenseth and Kurt Busch to be finishing ahead of these two (in my opinion) in this format is pretty wild and goes to show how "tempermental" the playoff system can be. Great video as always!

Pretty easy explanation. We introduced the COT, and ran it on tracks less than 1.5 miles. We kept the old car for the bigger tracks. At least until Fall Talladega when we finally used it at a large oval (I think we used the COT at the road courses too, but I'm not 100% certain.)

It would have been funny if this really happened in real life. The Chase was basically "the Matt Kenseth Rule," because he won the 2003 championship and only won one race. Now he wins the championship by getting two wins vs a guy who had 10 wins. Talk about beating the system. Edit: Come to think of it, stage points have undermined the whole "emphasize winning" thing. If you get enough stage points during a race, you can earn more total points during a race than the winner.
