I'm ridiculously addicted to powershift, it's my favorite game mode in any game ever. If powershift was ranked, I'd grind all the way up to Sapphire. (TA has Ruby, WT has Emerald, so Sapphire for top rank in powershift)

I know this felt awful, and I agree that making this ranked would probably end up with a good chunk of the playerbase forcing a cringy meta with it, but I nevertheless appreciate seeing trying a tourney out like this and would love to see like show match tourneys occasionally pop up and say incentivize changing contestants per death or something so as not to make things stale. Power shift is fun because of the adaptability it allows to change to any contestant per death. On the enemy team I am facing I could change things up to see if heavy all pyro, invis smoke light, or medium nader data shaper can help me stay on the platform, and see if I can find cracks to punish an enemy team annoying crutching with barricade/shield/dome/heals/turrets. It feels rewarding to take down enemy teams trying to make a fortress and just putting one top turret with zero barricades/aps or flashbang/smoke the platform as a statement. As I have bad aim I tend to not be good with kills, but am just happy to eat objective points up whenever things work.

Please god no. Power Shift is a relief from all the insane sweat that there is in this game. Everyone just going in with what they enjoy and have a fun game. PS is a fun casual game mode, and i hope it stays that way

When the second season of The Finals was released and they introduced the power shift mode, I loved it so much that I thought it would be a good idea to change the main mode "Cashout" to Power Shift, but I told myself that it would be stupid to think that they would never do something like that... well I was left looking like a 🤡 when they introduced TA as the main mode. "Ranked"

I mean the early matches were pretty bad obviously, but I thought those final rounds were pretty good games, looked fun to me personally I love a good sweaty round of power shift, and you do get them occasionally as far as the goats meta, I think nerfing a few key things on heavy and medium, that like you said are op in every game mode, would go a long way towards fixing that, and they have been nerfing some of those things a little bit this season very fun to watch in any case

I still think they should have a ranked gauntlet where there's multiple 5v5 modes. Each round you progress thru would be a different mode. Also still hoping we get some variation of oddball, ctf and VIP.

I love this! Haven't watched yet but I only like power shift in this game. Before, I didn't care for the game much, more than 2 teams feels silly cause I never found 3rd partying very interesting. Always turned me off from battle royales too. But super bored, I found power shift, and I fell in love. I can just enjoy the epic gunplay, whilst not being shot in the back by the 4th team I forgot to account for. And now I get to see how the rest of the game would be if we took it more seriously as the main gamemode! I imagine it has major issues, but I'm too noob to find out about it lol

I wish so bad it was ranked, Honestly i think the Finals needs a game that isnt so reliant on small teams, we need a 10v10 team deathmatch, or lone survivor. lights have the glitch grenades to destroy shields.

Try 3 heavies running goo and sledge, barricades, gravity cube, 1 medium with APS and 1 light with smoke grenades. Unstoppable goo fortress around the platform.

cant the enemy just run goo gun to burn the APS and then run a light with glitches since they're al grouped up? ithe biggest weakness of being on the platform is that you're all easy targets for throwables, and the only real counter is APS, so why not run something that can destroy all the turrets on the point quickly

i explain this throughout the games with comms and post game interview, i explain how we had a counter to this situation but only the final team actually did it and we were able to counter this strat.

​@@AppohI am curious about this counter. If the light also gateways the team up there and a heavy slams down for the start with the Goo gun strat, you can almost instantly wipe a team off the plat.
