0:56 could be argued as reasonable force. Restraining someone (admittedly with a weapon) who was armed and using that weapon in a threatening manner is a valid defence. I believe Washington (where the Smiths live) is a state that has a stand your ground law so he might not even face a trial.

@6:16 Planets aren't determined by size but by 3 requirements. 1. It must orbit a star (rouge planets are an exception) 2. It must be rounds/spherical in shape and 3. Must have cleared all debris in its orbit. Pluto hasn't done this yet as it resides in the Kuiper belt. I'm assuming tiny planet has even tho it's impossible to know for sure

20:11 I would like to say that this video is inaccurate, by assuming all of rick and morty takes place under the US legal system. Many of these crimes were comited outside the US or even diferent countries. Is the the galactic goverment recognized by the US? If no, there's no chance he will get charged for running from their cops. The reason for this time stamp is, that this "crime" is completly legal in many other countrys, in fact if you asume that rick has some form of custody (like the parents) for summer, providing her with alcohol would be legal even if she would have been just 14 in germany. EDIT: in germany cannibalism by itself also isn't illegal. It would just be tampering with a dead body. If the person is still alive, and the meat came from the person in a legal way (like a medicaly required amputation) eating that meat is legal.

To be fair on the not-so-abandoned ship It was projecting a distress call. I may not be a lawyer, but I know that is an invitation of a sorts, to get involved. Now, I don't believe Rick has the certifications to perform rescue operations, but at least it's not trespassing.

most of the attempted murder charges would just be considered criminal threat, as in most cases no one was harmed, obviously you could argue either way, but a lot of the cases no one (in these scenarios) was put in grevious bodily harm. Killing the jellybean guy in season 1, would be regicide I'm pretty sure the mosquito men are classed as government officials, so even the involuntary manslaughter charge would be raised. There is an argument for the citadel of ricks as well, some of the ones rick kill are considered leaders. Neutrino bombs would go under the classification of weapon of mass destruction, so in cases like the saw trap, when he threatens to use one, Rick should be charged with at least, owning a WMD, and terrorism. and possibly creation of an WMD. whatever that falls under.

Yes. The law does not give you years proportional to harm done. Jail times are supposed to be proportional to "future risk", and because it's so unclear what that is, a lot of jail times make no sense.

5:40 A planet is also defined by it’s shape, having an independent orbit around a STAR (and not another celestial body), as well as whether or not it has cleared every object in it’s path/orbit. If this planet DOES meet such a criteria then, regardless of size, it is more of a planet than is Pluto. I’m not exactly an expert on space though, so if I’m wrong correct me.

6:05 The definition of planet vs dwarf planet has to do with whether the planetoid has cleared out its orbit with its gravity more than size. You have to be much bigger than the other rocks in your orbit. While the planet is ridiculously small, it somehow seems to have near-Earth gravity, so it is doing some weird shit that could push it out of the dwarf planet category, depending on some other factors.

TECHNICALLY, just because something can be used like a drug doesn't mean it's a controlled substance. The way those laws work it's a black list not a white list.
