I remember reading a book that followed the causes of WW1 and the war itself week by week. In it, they talked about how the Germans were doing calculations on how many miles of railroad the Russians were building per year, and they concluded that within x number of years, the Russian capability of mobilization would be above that of Germany, therefore Germany needed to start a war while they still had the greater infrastructural capability. It's really fucking cynical, but that's realpolitik for you, I suppose. Well, I say realpolitik, Otto von Bismarck probably would never have allowed WW1 to happen in the first place.

It didn't work so well against the Germans, but the Russians were able to inflict a number of defeats on the Austro-Hungarians, the Brusilov Offensive being merely the best-known 3:30 The Tsar was less taking command and more hoping that his presence would be a morale boost. Of course, he was wrong - not to mention that things start to go badly in the capital not long after he left 9:22 Who, the Ottomans? If that war goes as per history, then yes they are 19:03 _[Sips tea angrily]_

In your videos I see that you like to get your unassigned units together at the beginning by finding each one and getting them that way. There is a much easier way to do this by clicking on the unassigned units icon on the top of the screen while holding shift. Just trying to make life a little easier is all, play however you like Mr. Rambler.

Alex - pretty sure the monarchist run is what the tsar did do. They just missed out the dependence on foreign capital and the mod designers seem to think that banning strikes would stop them (they were already illegal). I was legitimiately hoping that some of the focuses would trigger unexpected events (banning strike waves => more illegal strikes, which could be more crippling)

Hi Alex! Great video today. Since I know that you often discuss how your current channel views are lower than average and that your channel isn’t doing very well, which I don’t think it is by the way. To boost them, perhaps you should do more clod war era videos. I noticed that your video on a New World Order: Dont Surf mod has been your best performing recent hoi4 video. So perhaps instead of Doing ww1 and older era videos, do Cold War and alternate history Cold War era videos. I know that I myself find those more fun to watch.

Rambler history corner is great Alex. Truly wonderful idea. Speaking bout Russia before the first kefafle (legit word) it just started to industrialize and it's industrialization was quite rapid and Germs worried that Russia with enormous manpower and resources would be able to crush them after fully industrializing. Later the kefafle lower the German chances and even in 1914 Germany underestimated Russia's army and ability to mobilize but was able to defeat it even though they also had western front to worry about. But if the thingy started several years or a decade later Russia would be too strong to handle that's why Germany was kinda a kefaflemonger. And a joke as a reward for reading this (it's old polish joke) Soviet soldier caught a goldfish and it said he was one wish, soldat though for a while and said: i want to be a prince. The fish done it's thing he was lying in a big canopy bed in luxurious bedclothes when the duchess came to the room and said: Wake up Franz Ferdinand we're going to Sarajevo

When I play this mod as Germany I defeat France and win the war in under two months. I also played this mod once as Russia too and like Alex I singlehandedly won the war and got pissed that I didn't get anything.
