The main thing we don’t know has to do with Kubiak. That’s finding out if he can be a great play caller, which is a bit different than just a good offensive coordinator. To be a great play caller. 1. Can you script an opening 15-20 plays that will not only score you points, but put defenders in conflict enough to tell you everything you need to know about how they’re defending you? 2. Sequencing plays. Can you call plays that set up other plays later & takes advantage of tendencies? 3. Situations. Do you have some “gotta have 3rd & 4 or 3rd & 9 plays” and do you know when to call which ones? 4. Can you call a 4 minute offense to put a game away? 5. Can you trust Carr to call a 2 minute offense primarily on the field, if needed? ie. Can you not micromanage while also teaching Carr the concepts well enough & the game plan, so that he can call plays from the line in hurry up & have it be what you would call or even something better, in the moment? If Kubiak can do these things, the Saints & Carr can have a really successful season.

Started as a Raiders fan. Carr opened my eyes to how horrible that organization was and is still. Now I'm learning how to be a Saints fan because of him. I just got done watching career highlights of both Drew Brees and Derek Carr. Honestly, I don't see much difference as far as how accurate they are and all the throws they can make. I'm hanging on to hope that the Saints oline this year can be a fraction better than last year. If proven to be true, I believe Carr will help the Saints have a better season than last year even if it is only one game better. That means they'll be 10-7 at worst and have a great chance to win the division. But I'm thinking they might even finish 13-4 if I'm being honest. Only time will tell. WhoDat!!!

I left the dumpster fire Raider organization also. What Davis allowed to happen to Gruden and Carr was the last straw. As far as the Brees/Carr comparison, Carr has better arm talent and a stronger arm than Brees with a quicker release. Carr also has a higher completion percentage with 3 step drop back passes. Brees was an on again off again backup for 5 years before he came to the Saints. He played in a stable offensive system with the Saints with an offensive guru for 16 years. Carr has never had that stability. But Carr’s career is not over. I know it’s hard for some Saints fans to like Carr because they live in the past and are constantly saying that Carr is not Drew Brees. Why don’t they just relax and enjoy the ride?

​@pbm8264 💯 I had a feeling the move to Vegas came with some strings attached and by that I mean the Davis family not being in control of the organization anymore. That's why we heard and started seeing players and coaches from the Patriots show up and having real Raiders like Gruden and Carr be shown the door. I agree with you as far as the comparison between Carr and Brees goes and that Carr may have a brighter career but most fans will only see wins as the final measuring stick. The good thing is we are not like most fans and can see issues in other areas such as coaching, oline, defense, and the lack of having a number one receiver. Those other key components are too much for basic fans to comprehend. Either way, I'm super optimistic about this upcoming season for Carr and the Saints and I believe that this year will be the year he quiets down the naysayers. WhoDat!!!

I literally could care less about the Raiders now. I am 60 years old now. I can pull for whatever team I want, and I followed Carr to the Saints. Carr and the Saints will light it up this year.

Yeah we got a few old dogs, but they're dawgs! Demario is from Mississippi and those guys won't quit. Tyron is still the Honey Badger and Cam is still playing at a high level. Carr will play well if he's protected, we can't allow the hits like last season and Kubiaks offense will help temper that but it's up to the big guys up front to dictate the game. It is so obvious the divide that Carr creates among supporters. Half of us see a guy that isn't it, simply put. The other half are going to be waiting Carr's entire career for the stars to align.

It's not Carrs fault that ever single team he's ever played for was very deeply flawed, to the point any QB either wouldn't have made the playoffs at all, or would barely have scraped in (like Carr did). Teams don't make the playoffs giving up 30+ PPG on defense. Has literally never happened before. Is it Carrs fault Raiders had defenses that bad? No, it's the front offices fault for being terrible at drafting. Carr goes to the saints, and they not only have the worst OC in the NFL, but also the worst run game in the NFL. On top of that, the OL was the worst in the NFL over the 1st half of the season. You think any QB is playing well over those 1st 8 games with no run game or OL, while not knowing the system? Hell no. Brady had a great OL, great OC, and great WR's in Tampa, an they STILL didn't start playing well until after 11 games that season. They won anyway bc the run game carried them over the 1st half of the season. Well, saints couldn't do that with the worst run game in the NFL, now could they? Saints fans want to be mad at Carr for not being able to carry the offense out the gate when literally no QB has ever done that.....even elite, 1st ballot HOF QB's like Brady and Manning. Carr will be successful when the team he's on puts him in position to succeed. Hopefully Kubiak ends up being a decent OC, and the patchwork OL doesn't end up being terrible, or else fans like you will have more excuses to blame Carr instead of looking at the actual problems.

Is that an excuse or a fact? There's also a reason Drew had only 1 season with a winning record when he had defenses that were ranked 20th or lower. Carr had 2 winning seasons with defenses that were ranked 20th or worse. I'm not comparing their abilities, only their situations. I definitely think Drew is better but he's also been on better teams. Again, facts, not excuses.

Every QB needs time to adjust to new systems, it's not just Carr. QB's who won anyway are on teams with good run games that can carry the offense while they acclimate. Saints didn't have that last year, which is why the offense looked so bad over the 1st half of the season. They NEEDED Carr to carry them, but he wasn't ready.....just like no QB would have been ready, ESPECIALLY with Pete Carmichael as the OC. The guy who thinks an offense doesn't need play action to function. Yeah, that's bad. Allen was able to find a good OC this off-season bc they have an actual good QB now. Nobody wanted to work with Dalton or Winston. Guys were lining up to work with Carr. Just you wait fella, the Carr era is just starting in NO. Mark my words.
