I was severely disappointed by Killmonger's turn. It would have been far more interesting if he'd stayed good and become the second (or even the first) *War Machine,* replacing Tony on the super-hero front lines (or even introduced the older of Tony's non-IM armor--*The Guardsman).* Instead, he's the same old short-sighted, revenge-obsessed, bastard that he's always been. YOU MISSED A MAJOR CHANCE AT PLOT IMPROVEMENT, MARVEL!! All this teaches us is that Sacred Timeline or no, the Original Path is the only Good Path...everything else goes to Shit. Not the idea I think you intended, writers.

not so much as outsmart but outplanning everyone. revenge and determination are two things that give good villains an edge against heroes. Zemo for example, he knew hE couldn't defeat the Avengers so he spent all his time making a master plan to take them out from within

He was born with the same intelligence as other Wakandans and he had a lifetime of training to plan this out. He did the same thing as Nemo, make everyone fight and you take out what's left. This would've been amazing in live action and Kilmonger lasted for a couple movies.

I'm glad this one came out in the order it did. That was very smart and shows some sensitivity on Marvel's part. If this had been the first or even second T'Challa appearance in the series, I wouldn't be able to handle it. Watching him die, in a coffin, and in the ancestral plane punched me in the gut. Only one more episode with Chadwick I think.

I don't know what's more remarkable, that Erik Killmonger's real superpower is shuckin' n' jivin' or that his exemplary talent at it actually makes him even MORE like Vegeta than ever. Shuck and jive: verb. To act as docile and non-threatening as possible so that the Powers that Be don't put a boot on your neck when they see your talent and intelligence, because they buy your act of having no agency or agenda.

I didn't dislike this episode, but I think it's my least favorite. Tony's personality without going through what he went through was grating and I kinda wish the writers did something a little more innovative with Killmonger than slightly tweaking what happened in middle act of Black Panther. The Queen being a general was amazing though and I like how the Watcher is becoming more corporeal as we go along.

Tony being the way he was in this episode was intentional. People seem to forget he was an arrogant ass hat before he was stuck in a cave building weapons for terrorists. What changes with Killmonger needed to happen? He has the same backstory and motivation and it works.

@@zacharyjackson1829 I don't think Tony being a jerk was a bad call for the writers for out of character for him. It's just not particularly enjoyable for me to watch, personally. For Killmonger the latter half of the episode felt like what we saw in Black Panther. He kills Klawe and brings his body to Wakanda to earn their trust, removes T'Challa from the board becomes the Black Panther himself and orchestrates a war. It's not bad or out of character for him, I've just already seen in. I think it would have been an interesting take is if Tony and Killmonger helped each other appeal to their better angels. Killmonger could have encouraged Tony to leave his self-centeredness and be a force for good and Killmonger could have had the opportunity to honor his roots and his socio-political vision and through Tony have the allies and resources to achieve those goals without resulting to more violence. But again, I didn't dislike the episode it just felt a bit flat to me.

I rate this episode 70 Killmonger scars out of 4 times we've had to see Tony Stark die/zombied. But really MBJ's Killmonger is one of my favorite comic book portrayals ever, and I hoooooope they're doing all this Multiverse stuff in part to bring him back in some way.

One thing about high school English class I hate is how it trained me to over analyze everything, to find hidden meanings and parallels that probably weren’t there intentionally. The plot reminded me of the prequels with one person behind both sides of a war trying to become the leader and militarizing their allies. Anyway here goes: Killmonger = Palpatine, Drones = Droids, US Army = Trade Federation, Wakanda (hidden behind shield) = Otoh Gunga (hidden underwater inside shield), Rhino mounts = Kaadu mounts… idk does that make T'challa = Jar Jar?

It seems like I'm in minority but I'll say it - the worst episode so far. The whole idea of this show is just "Shove as much as possible into 25-30 min. video" and it sometimes works - episodes 3 and 4 were the best. Unfortunately, not this one. So many sacrifices have been made for the sake of story progression. Feelings, character growth, minor story bits... everything has been flattened, cheapened or God knows what else, only because the next point from the storyboard had to be shown. Deaths while plentiful had no impact, and Killmonger's "Brilliance" was nothing else than the writers setting up red carpet for him. Hell, even his reveal as the villain had absolutely no punch at all. I like this show, I like the idea for it but I think that they need to rethink the approach for it. Either longer episodes or multiple episodes for one story. And even if this one will have a continuation, I hope we won't wave to wait long, because that would be just stupid.

This was the episode that made me keep saying, “Oh come on?! What else can go wrong?!” I really liked hating this storyline. It makes me wonder with all the life-saving tech of Wakanda, would they really have let Killmonger die at the end of Black Panther? I think/hope they saved him. Even so, he was an EXCELLENT villain; I actually cried when he died at the end of Black Panther.

Not gonna lie, if Shuri didn't show up at the end with Potts and gave us an ounce of hope, I would have hated this episode with the heat of a thousand suns. They just played out Wakandan Hitler Palpatine Killmonger playing the entire world for fools, Murdering our favorite characters (Rhodey, T'Challah, Stark) suckering the wise T'chakkah, and stealing the mantle of Black Panther. He probably would have murdered the royal family of Wakanda and blamed it on the world and taken the power of Wakanda to roll over the Earth and enslave it. Killmonger has come-uppens coming out his kiester. Shuri and Potts have their hands full because the threat now is formidable to say the least. They need the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and the full might of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to balance the next engagement.

Technically, the villain won in.... [SPOILERS] . . . . the Loki TV series. Sylvie got to kill Kang, and an evil Kang took over the TVA, and Loki ended up not getting the girl and losing a friend. So it does happen in the Marvel universe, other than Thanos winning at the end of Infinity War.

Anyone else getting kinda sick of these super dark What Ifs? It seems like they have largely sacrificed the humor. Plenty of Marvel fans are in it for the humor not just actions and fight scenes. The first 2 episodes were great. The Zombie episode at least had humor going for it. The rest aren't worlds I'd be interested in revisiting. I think the most successful ones are the ones you'd want a whole season of.
