Alison Sealy-Smith is indeed the same VO as Storm in XMen in the 90s and Xmen 97. I was already sold on the rest of this trailer, but finally having an official X-Men in an MCU project, and its Storm, AND its voiced by Alison Sealy-Smith, I am all in! Church of Marvel is back in full swing!

in comics Storm canonically has her own uru hammer, Stormcaster, which was given to her by Loki in a scheme to use her to replace Thor. She later used Mjolnir to destroy Stormcaster, seeing such a gift as tainted by Loki's malice and deceit.

I have a theory. The Storm we see in What...If? could actually be the one from X-Men '97, who.... Spoilers for X-Men '97 Was displaced in time at the end of that series with her loaction being unknown 6 months later. This theory suggests that Storm could've ended up in the MCU. Given that What If...? focuses on exploring different branched timelines within the MCU, it wouldn’t initially make sense for Storm to appear, as she hasn’t been formally introduced into the MCU yet. However, this theory could explain how Storm might show up in the series, connecting the animated world of X-Men '97 with the wider MCU. So summed up. Storm was displaced in time and ended up landing in the Mainline MCU. This could've caused a branched timeline similar to the Avengers in Endgame or maybe its closer to No Way Home in which visitors from other universes entered the Mainline MCU and did not cause the timeline to branch.

Storm welding Mjiornir is comic canon. During the time Thor got frogged and Storm was depowered, the X-men were pulled into Asgard. There is a What If comic where she stayed and protected Asgard while Thor hung out on Earth.

No the first X-Man in the MCU is Beast, shown at the end of the Marvel's, then Wolverine or did you forget the line "Welcome to the MCU, you're joining at a bit of a low point" ? Unless they bring Storm over to the Sacred Timeline she will be like Beast and Wolverine not actually part of the sacred timeline but in the MCU.
