My most predominant thought while watching that was, "If I can use this on sims from older games it will make it easier to make them in TS4. It won't be perfect of course, but I think it would really help in identifying some of the predominant features in a way that translates to TS4, especially after seeing Bella and Cassandra from The Sims.

I think the thing with the earrings is the AI is putting together parts of different photographs that are similar to the picture, but it doesn't know about or try to detect earrings. So it will use whatever ear photograph is the most similar in shape or colour, and if that ear has an earring, the image it generates will have the earring too. AIs like this are biased and limited by the data they're given. This AI will have been given a set of photographs of real humans to work with. If a lot of the humans in those photographs had earrings, and it wasn't "taught" what earrings are, it will tend to put earrings in images where they aren't needed.

I figure this was why the lips often ended up parted too. It would've just tried to find lips of a similar size and doesn't acknowledge details like teeth? It'd be interesting to know what the original faces were like and see the parts in every Sim transformation.

I assume that eyes and ears are the hardest to 'fudge' for the program, so it just takes whichever looks the closest from its database but doesn't change all that much (remove ear rings or change eye color). We are also naturally paying way more attention to someones eyes, so they're way more likely to strike us as wrong in the pictures. A lot more features would be 'wrong' but we let that go way more easily. (That's my explanation for it anyways, I have no idea xD)

So much fun! I think Agnes was actually pretty spot on. And for Brent I think it read his beard as his face shape, which is why it got so much rounder. I'd love to see all of the different Rags to Riches protagonists run through this! I feel like with Chad and Trenton, you could see they had the same eyes even as AI versions, so comparing the Bigwallets in order from Lady Bigwallet and down would be so much fun to see how much they look like their parent (or even parentS if you were to also run their partner that they had the next gen with through this).
