Most of the intel points to the capital as the projected target which is why it’s always listed first. The terrorists wanted 9/11 to be very symbolic targeting different symbols. The original plot was 10 planes but they determined that would be too complicated to pull off so scaled it down.

The other tower probably would have been beyond repair to the point of needing to be demolished. The Deutche Bank across from the towers had to be razed because the collapses damaged and contaminated the building beyond repair.

Astonishingly enough, the ESB probably wouldve survived from what ive read (although significantly damaged). The towers were amazing, but they were undoubtedly built with iffy construction (due to the PA’s budget). With their tube-frame system they just happened to be extremely vulnerable to the attack that bestowed them. Statue of liberty would’ve been toast, without a doubt.

Worst case scenario might be shearing off the upper part of the building, but most likely would have been a massive hole and of course a major fire that might have rendered the building irreparable.

3:00 Pentagon wasn't a glancing blow. The plane allegedly performed a 270 degree corkscrew bank turn leveling off at under fifty feet hitting the light poles before striking the first floor west between Corridors 4 and 5. From 35,000 feet to a perfect descending loop into the first floor by a student pilot with a couple lessons in a Cessna.

I think the hijackers waited 45 minutes for a simple reason: turning the plane over Cleveland makes it easier to navigate to Washington, DC, and aim for the Capitol. Ziad Jarrah likely wanted to use the Potomac River and the National Mall to help guide the plane and align the aircraft toward its target. If it hadn't been for the delay, UA93 would've arrived over Washington around 9:30-9:40, roughly the same time AA77 crashed into the Pentagon. The timing was everything because DC would've begun evacuating its buildings. If the plane was hijacked after takeoff, using I-95 would mean dodging low buildings and neighborhoods in DC, making things more complicated for an inexperienced pilot.

The passengers on 93 got news about the World Trade Center because of the late departure, and yes 4 terrorists was easier to fight because it was 3 defending the cockpit while one was focused on flying the plane The other flights the passengers wouldn’t have been aware and were cooperating with the terrorists, they didn’t know what was going to happen and historically hijacker’s would use passengers as hostages, not fly into buildings

You should do one on a possible scenario regarding what if United 93 crashed into the White House. A lot of people speculate that the plane was heading for the Capital Building and rule out the White House entirely, mainly because the Capital Building has a big dome that is noticeable. Bin Laden did say he would like to see the White House destroyed, which gives some credence that that was the possible target as that’s where the President lives and does a lot of his day to day work, so if the President isn’t living in the White House for the duration it takes to rebuild and repair the White House, then that would be a predicament that many haven’t really considered. Since the plane never got to its intended target, speculation is all we have regarding which building the terrorists intended to hit.

To my understanding the two F16s that could've shot down flight 93 both had 120 rounds of training ammunition loaded into their front mounted gatling guns. The story of them having to crash their jets into the flight 93 came from the fact that the ammunition was for weight balancing but I don't buy this explanation. Using the training ammunition which very well could've shot down the plane and is a much better alternative to a suicidally flying their jets into flight 93.

Totally disagree with your take on this. If the capital had been hit this absolutely would have changed things . This is the seat of our government, a lot more symbolic of a target for terrorists. Any target in D.C. would have made things much different. If the capital was hit I disagree with you that the twin towers would still be the man story. I believe there might have been a way to save the North Tower. Here's my perspective: immediately after it was hit, they could have dispatched helicopters to the tower with 5-7 firefighters on each, fully equipped with their gear. As the helicopters hovered above the North Tower, they could have lowered ropes or ziplines for the firefighters to descend. The firefighters would go down first, followed by their gear, and this process could have been repeated with additional helicopters. Given that the impact occurred around floor 90, the firefighters could have reached the affected areas to rescue people and extinguish the fire. With 1 hour and 30 minutes available, there might have been a chance to save the North Tower, although unfortunately for the South Tower, it was done.

The problem with this is the overwhelming amount of smoke and heat gathering to the top. The smoke alone would be a problem for a pilot. Not only all that, but heli pads apparently weren't used very much after a certain time period at the towers. From the pictures I've seen, it also seems pretty small/narrow of a landing, further increasing risk. I think they definitely thought your plan through already.

The World Trade Center was despised by critics,as Norman Mailer called them "twin towers of Babel" and Paul Fussell called them "dull and witless, expressive only of dumb, raw power."
