Dr. Avi Loeb started the Galileo Project, the goal of the Galileo Project is to bring the search for extraterrestrial technological signatures of Extraterrestrial Technological Civilizations (ETCs) from accidental or anecdotal observations and legends into the mainstream of transparent, validated and systematic scientific research. This ground-based project searches for physical objects, rather than electromagnetic signals, associated with extraterrestrial technological equipment.
Avi Loeb recently spoke at the Our Future in Space panel at the National Cathedral alongside Jeff Bezos of Blue Origin and NASA Director Bill Nelson.

@Björn Larsson Dr Loeb has a far way to go to conclusively prove anything. Evidence is stacked against him for his claims, which doesn’t mean he is at fault or that he shouldn’t get more resources to gather data. There is nothing disrespectful about showing multiple interpretations.

@madmattdigs9518
@madmattdigs9518 2 жыл бұрын
@@pinuuturner7777 Hello Pinuu. A metal detector alerts to a target when the coil passes over it in motion. So, in other words you have to sweep it back and forth as close to the ground as possible. It will beep as it moves over a metal target. Lay a few different coins and metal objects on the ground. Spread them out a good distance. Then practice swinging over the objects to see how each one reacts to your metal detector. This is the best way to learn. You have to do this on ground where there isn’t any other metal in the ground… or you’ll be confused by that. There might seem like a lot of functions on your machine, but they’re usually pretty simple. You should be able to turn it on and start detecting. The only functions you need to worry about is discrimination and sensitivity. You can discriminate certain types of metal so the machine won’t beep when you pass over it. I always discriminate iron signals. Some people don’t use any discrimination function. They want to find all metal targets. You can do that. I just get tired of digging up so much junk I try to reduce the amount of unwanted junk metal. Just note that if you swing the detector over a very large object, the discrimination function probably won’t work very well. It’s hard for a metal detector to resist sounding with very large pieces of metal. The sensitivity is just as it sounds. There’s really no reason to turn the sensitivity down. You might miss good targets. I suppose it might serve a purpose in certain situations, but I turn mine up to about 80% and never adjust it. The important thing to know is that you will have to dig up unwanted junk metal to find good targets such as coins and jewelry. You will learn how certain things react with your metal detector, but you just have to learn over time by trial and error. There’s no way to only dig up gold and silver, but not dig up other metal objects made of aluminum or brass and copper. Aluminum and gold look the same to a metal detector. There’s only subtle differences you have to learn over time. The same is true for silver and lead or copper. There are subtle differences you can learn over time, but you never can be sure, so you have to dig up many things to find the good stuff. I hope this helps

Yeah when he spoke about AI’s being like having kids. They might not always be exactly what you planned but that don’t mean you won’t love them and be proud of them. It’s definitely the right way to consider AI or we’d only turn them against us with a paranoia and controlling behaviour

Dr. Loeb is at Harvard... A school known to be very closely tied to (some would say heavily influenced by) the CIA. Something tells me if Avi is bringing it up, it's because our intelligence community WANTS it in the spot light. The Gov has been pushing this UFO thing hard the last couple years. I think this is another aspect of that push.

I'm just getting started with this video, but, I'm a little of the opinion that one of the more efficient ways to visit other paces in the galaxy is to send sophisticated printers to all the places, and when those arrive, explorers can transmit their consciousnesses to the printers, and then print a body appropriate for and pre-adapted to the local environment. I like to joke and say this explains cats, but, on topic here, I think it's more than reasonable that IF any aliens were visiting, they could very well be indistinguishable from anything naturally occurring and evolved on this planet, down to the smallest most granular dissection/inquiry. They could live among us as Jane Goodalls, even going native and raising families with natural humans. No lizard people hiding inside a flesh suit required. Similar to this, there's mythical critters like mermaids, and such that could, with a bit of reaching, be explained by aliens printing weird chimera-like specialty bodies. Eh. It's fun to think about, but, I don't take it seriously as it also seems reasonable that were such a thing happening, there'd be alien misfits, radical activist groups, that would give us unambiguous, undeniable proof we're getting visited because reasons like we haven't consented, so, we need to know so that we can give informed consent, or deny it.

I will need to listen to this interview again. IMO, Professor Loeb explored several highly fascinating possibilities concerning the intersection of AI , AI scientists, the creation of what we understand as the universe and our science . He truly is one of the great minds of our lifetime. I liked your interview! I've heard him interviewed by many others. You got him to go....way...way...way.....out there. I can't wrap my mind around all of it. I kept thinking of about 20 sci-fi scripts that could be written just from this one hour interview! 👏🏼 Bravo!

Of course they are here, I saw something in the sky above my old bungalow where I lived before I changed my address about 5 weeks ago and what I saw was definitely not from this world, I couldn’t believe my own eyes with what I saw, I’m 59 years old and I’ve been a spiritual person since my early childhood, but I had never seen anything in the skies before in my life until recently but like I said what I saw, I don’t care what anyone tells me what I saw in the sky above my old bungalow was not from this world say what you want but I definitely know what I saw. It was one big massive craft and it broke into two tiny little balls of light that flew away together in formation of each, with absolutely no no noise no smoke no nothing it was stationary and then it broke into two and they just zoomed off together, unbelievable but true.

Loeb likes to stroke his own ego about how much less ego he has than most scientists. Would've been nice to hear a lot more specifics about the Galileo programme. E.g. do they have a plan for how to cover a reasonably large percentage of the Earth's surface with their cameras?

@@Letzer thanks for the info. I'd really like to see this project succeed. By which I mean, do some comprehensive surveying - I don't really expect it to find anything interesting, except maybe some new atmospheric phenomena. But now I want to say to Loeb, "great, you've made your case, now shut up and get on with it, you don't have to keep repeating yourself". You're probably right that funding is gonna be a problem, so fair enough, he does have to do some marketing. But putting down the rest of the scientific community doesn't seem like an effective way to go about it. I'd actually be happy to make a small donation, I'm sure many people would, but I don't see anywhere to do that. And indeed, you've gotta wonder if crowd funding is gonna be enough for something like this. I guess we'll just have to be patient and see what happens. But the more he sounds like a broken record, the more people will turn away

What I especially love and respect about him is his combination of boldness and humility. (And THANK YOU, John Michael Godier, for your show!! Event Horizon is exactly what the public needs, in these chaotic times!) Initially when he was interviewed by JMG he sounded a note of skepticism about the UFO phenomena, which was before the Pentagon UAP disclosures. I was a little frustrated with his arguments which were based on simple analogies amounting to question-begging "why would we think we're so important that an ETI would bother probing the Earth's atmosphere?" And then suddenly he changed his mind, which is a good thing!!! We don't need dogmatists in science! We need guys like him who can allow for fresh data to be viewed with fresh eyes. I also love the way he's going about building up this research tradition, the GP--from a standpoint of sociology and policy this is just absolutely brilliant and sorely needed! I'm just starting to watch, but here goes an idea for doctor Loeb: imagine something like a satellite that could stay in orbit and make images from Earth (exactly for the Galileo project), but which could also activate some rockets and go intercept an extrasolar object, when spotted. The advantages would be that 1, it's going to help the project while in orbit and 2, would save a LOT of time when an extrasolar object is detected. Because of things like delays in the launch and so on.

@@Makabert.Abylon It depends on what exactly you want to do. If you want the probe to follow it or land on it, that's going to need a hell LOT of fuel to burn.
