I have to disagree on a few points, I don’t believe Tywin would take Arya back to King’s Landing, he’s not the type of man to put all of his eggs in one basket and Sansa is already there. I believe Arya would be sent to Casterly Rock and held captive by Keven with the intension of her being married off to either Tommen or a Lannister at some stage. Tyrion maybe, or Lancel, or even one of the twins. This inadvertently protects her from Joffrey through share tactics. Arya being bethrothed/married to Lancel would be interesting as it might prevent the High Sparrow from sinking his claws into Lancel, and completely stop that entire plot. I think Keven would treat Arya kindly enough, which would prevent her from killing herself, and Hot Pie might even manage to join the group going to Casterly Rock, maybe giving her one friend. The girl still owes three names, assume she used the first one, but the situations to use the other two never happened, I see her eventually choosing Cersei and Joffrey - this completely changes the story.

I aways thought that Tywin saw a logical and cunning degree of ruthlessness that was not present in any of his children. As such he would want to close Arya in the Lannister fold by wedding Arya to his heir of Casterly Rock Tommen Baratheon. Or some other Lannister if the purple wedding still occurs. Barring that Arya could be offered to the Tyrells over Sansa because she is of a great house, but not the heir to Winterfell.

Stannis still shadow baby kills him. He takes the Throne by right but Ned is Alive and will Knell to him this Time NEDD FUCKING UMBER WOULDNT INFLUENCE ROB TO SECEDE. Rob and the North will have Jaime but Tywin no leverage against the crown/north besides the Tyrell’s decision to join Stannis or not after he kills his brother. The wildcard is little-finger and the Tyrells and if the offer to marry into the lannisters is the best question but Stannis could use the leaches against Joffrey or Tywin using Kings blood. Stannis hopefully would not kill Ned as he needs allies, ALLY with DORNE and with Jamies son captive Tywin would sue for peace. The northern threat would be taken more seriously but lastly....*DANNY/TYRION/VARYS* The red woman would eventually convince Stannis they need her for the WW but Tyrion is that missing peace really. Hopefully Danny doesn’t die in Meereen SOTH style then no dragons for the war just wild animals then game over but if so, and no Varys Tyrion then....EURON will help Danny and she will probably kill him after she beats Stannis. A pact must be needed somehow but STANNIS AND DANNY WILL BE a tougher battle but eventually I think Danny will Win. Keep Ned alive and force the North (EVERYONE) to join her against the threat. Tywin would then ask for Jaime or even Tyrion (if captive also) to marry her but we know she’ll do to Jaimie. Arrya has no journey but if Ned/RedW/Stannis/Danny have her trained by fate then maybe she can kill him Bran will go north by fate regardless somehow. And Jon...dead unless Thoros could revive him.

Honestly, I agree with him not wanting to take her back to king's landing. He wouldn't want to risk Joffery doing something stupid. Knowing that idiot, he'd execute or torture her for that standoff back in early season 1 where she held him at sword point. Tywin is too smart to just allow him to do that. Doing so would pretty much Garuntee Jaime's death. Rob would not, under any circumstances, tolerate the execution or torture of his sister. Yes, Sansa was tortured in a way, but I fully believe Arya's torture at Joffery's hands would be the brutal bloody kind, not the mainly psychological kind. The kind Arya gets from Joffery would garuntee that Tywin see's Jaime's head on the tip of a spear. He would not risk putting another Stark in Joffery's hands. Especially not one the marriage-pact wouldn't keep him from harming in a permanent way. He already knows Circe can't control Joffery, and adding Arya to Tyrion's plate would complicate things too much and he knows this. Tyrion could not protect both Sansa and Arya and Tywin would never trust that he could even if Joffery was not a factor. One side thing tho, if Arya had a name left, Jakken may at least kill Tywin for her. That or she could again blackmail him like she did in the show by giving him his own name. Whether or not Jakken would aave her would depend entirely on if she had a name left to give. And if she couldn't successfully blackmail him, Arya is loyal enough to her family ahe would probably give him her name. Have him take her out so she couldn't be used against Rob.

Late to this video but I can't agree Jaqen would've abandoned her remembering how dangerous the kill of Amory Lorch was. You can argue show Jaqen may be somewhat less committed than in the books but assuming Tywin jails her I'm sure he would contact her and release her as she did him or at least kill a guard. At this point she'd be focused on Tywin so for her 2nd or 3rd kill she'd probably do the right thing & name Tywin. Actually I'm not sure this would change much as Kevan seems a competent enough commander & once Blackwater Bay happens I think the game is up for the North taking King's landing regardless of what then happens at The Twins.

An potential path I think you may have overlooked is the potential of Arya being married off to Tyrion after Tywin returns to King's Landing. Consider: Tywin planned to marry a Stark to Tyrion to get him out of control. What irony it would be to pair the lesser child of House Lannister with the lesser child of House Stark, and at the same time still having the much more appealing bargaining chip that is Sansa Stark. Perhaps Sansa could even have pleaded with Tyrion to marry Arya if not to save her from being sent off with Ramsay Bolton. Of course with Arya married to Tyrion she would be relatively safer from Joffrey's wrath should she speak out of turn in front of his grace. There is also the possibility of her recognising Varys after hearing him in the chambers of the Red Keep, which could open a few doors with Varys trying to keep her quiet, or perhaps using her as a pawn in his own little game. And should the Queen of Thornes catch wind of her dislike for Joffrey, she may also use that to her advantage. With Arya being paired with Tyrion a few new doors could be opened up. Thought it is very unlikely this ever would have happened. But something to think about.
@TheBattProductions5 жыл бұрын
Samuel Bedsole I didn’t overlook it necessarily: I just didn’t think it was an outcome. Since Sansa was the key to the North (as far as anyone knew), it made most sense to have Tyrion marry her instead of Arya.

mijan hoque well... Rob’s downfall was him not listening to his seasoned advisors! If he did, he would have kept Lord Karstark alive and retained his army. Then he wouldn’t have needed the Frey army. If he had married the Frey girl, then his first mistake of killing Karstark would have at least been remedied! So it really wasn’t the size of his army that lead to his downfall! His decisions were!
@mijanhoque17405 жыл бұрын
Blue Mermaid Well yeah it was his decisions which contributed to the gain and loss of troops he had. If he hadn’t made a ton of mistakes he would have kept the karstark and Frey men but due to his decisions he lost both. Anyway my question wasn’t to do with any of that, it was what if he hired the golden company and managed to get them to westeros right after the lannister&tyrell alliance or after the battle of Oxcross. The Northmen & Golden Company plus war elephants is an awesome combo.

Jaqen H’ghar is not a cheap assassin - I think he was being sent with that pack up to the Night’s Watch probably to kill Ned (when the plan was to send him to the Wall) on the way or at some point. Once he pays Arya/Lord of Life back for the saved lives (which was solely incidental) he heads off on his next mission at the Citadel.

On the books, she never even encountered Twyn Lannister. She saw him while at Harrenhal, but she never spoke to him or anything. She serves a man named Weese. After Weese is killed by Jaqin H'ghar and Tywin goes to Kingslanding, Roose Bolton takes Harrenhal and Arya becomes his server until she escapes. If she would have told Roose Bolton who she was on the books, she mightve reunited with Robb, but then she might have been at the Red Wedding and gotten killed. It would've been cool to see her and Roose Bolton interact on the show. She asks him a question about if she would go with him when he leaves and he gets mad at her, but answers the question, and he tells her that if she questions him again, he'd cut her tounge out.

First, thanks so much for the video! Your Game of Thrones what-ifs are always fun for me! This one was quite interesting, and you have a point: Arya is such a big piece, although not one that you think of so much! Just some ideas here that I'd love to hear your take on, as you always do a wonderful job: What if Tywin was a good father? What if Cersei never existed? What if Ned Stark demanded a Trial by Combat before he confessed and was beheaded? What if Lysa was never pushed overboard by Littlefinger? These are just some thoughts. Thanks for all your videos!

I think the story would have advanced very similar to what happens in the show. I know you argue that Jaqen H'gar doesn't really care about Arya saving him, but I think he does. The faceless men worship the god of death, and since Arya saved him and Rorge and Biter, he has to give back three lives to the god of death. Giving back three lives to death would be his way of serving the god of death. I also don't really think there is much of a Faceless men code, at least not one that tells him he must go back to Braavos, because in the books, Jaqen H'gar is rumored to be in Oldtown, instead of in Braavos; you said that he has to return to Braavos because of their code, but if he were in Oldtown he probably didn't need to go to back. He would follow her to King's Landing and she would escape with his help in a similar way, but I think instead she would go to Braavos with him, doing her training and then coming back to Westeros for the events of the last two seasons plus episode 10 of season 6. So in conclusion; this wouldn't really change very much. Also I really doubt that Arya Stark is the type of person to kill herself if that were to happen, I think she would just live with her injuries, as the season 6 Arya story-line demonstrates that you don't need eyes to fight. You don't really need a tongue to fight, either.

Before i watch this... If u watch over that scene do you really think he didn't know that was Arya Stark? Not only did she slip up after her called her out he gave her credit for how smart she was... He didn't want to send her back to Cersi he didn't trust Cersin
@TheBattProductions5 жыл бұрын
Stewart Bugler He had no idea she was Arya. If he did, there’s noooooo chance he would’ve let her go. Tywin is ruthless when it comes to his family and the Starks had Jaime...at the very least he would’ve tried to trade her, but even then I doubt it.
@stewartbugler5 жыл бұрын
@@TheBattProductions honestly if you look at how he acts and keeps Baelish from looking at his Cup bearer. As well as everything he says to Arya from the moment he meets her ... It's easy to see he had established it was Arya Stark by the last conversation. Baelish kinda confirmed it with his intrigue of her. He recognised her but he wasn't saying anything. Tywin was ruthless but he wasn't stupid. His last comment at how clever she was is somewhat a warning to keep her head down. If he wasn't sure on who she was then he would of most certainly tried to find out. As he knew Arya was missing at that point... and as I said not being an idiot he would of asked his men exactly where that girl came from before that last conversation they had. He even had good he didn't like sent to his quarters with cutlery set out for her. That scene is a collective tests to prove to himself she isn't Arya Stark... But all tests didn't just fail to remove his concerns but it didn't confirm them either she was impressive and Tywin respected that seeing his own Daughter's promise from when she was her age. Fantastic scene honestly rewatch it and you might get what I mean by every detail leading to his investigation into her
@stewartbugler5 жыл бұрын
Something as well to note about watching that scene over... If u were to look at one thing consistently to find this brief I have. Then watch Tywin himself he doesn't really care what Peter has to say all eyes are on Arya even in the meeting before it's just Him Her and Baelish.

Stewart Bugler Still doesn’t make sense ultimately - Tywin would never let a Stark out of his sight when they had his son

TheBattProductions yeh but she leaves the next day he wouldn't really have an option. I mean i agree with the video on what would of happened to Arya if she was sent to Kings landing... But thats what i meant by He wouldn't Trust Cersie and as much power he has he isn't the king. It makes sense that he would keep quiet and leave Arya hiding amongst the camp working right at his side during the days at Harenhall. He didn't have much chance to do anything about her escape he probably only heard of it by the morning when they realised the guards are posted to their posts.

In my own alternative storyline, the War of the Five Kings never happened because before the fallout with Ned's discovery, Arya literally bumps into Tywin while running around King's Landing and immediately takes a liking to her recognizing her intelligence. Wondering where Arya went, Ned soon heard giggling coming from Tywin's study where he finds Arya and Tywin laughing over Westeros' equivalent to the book 'The Prince' with Tywin explaining it's principles and Arya's quick wit making jokes over them. The only two people that could make Tywin laugh was his beloved wife, and Arya Stark. With this 'friend', Tywin would have smoothed things over with Ned and advised him in his Hand of the King job. (The two making a secret deal to keep the peace and keep the secret of Gendry's real father.) With this they would have recognized Littlefinger as the real immediate danger and fought his machinations as a team, also joining forces to combat the Night King later on. In the books anyway Tywin was ruthless, but also said if any enemy kneels before him and asks for peace he would grab their hand and help them up for pledging loyalty.
