Well, in the Netherlands we have this city called Urk. It is the Dutch Alabama and it used to be an islandm but due to Flevoland being reclaimed from the ocean it is now connected to the mainland. (We wish it was still an island...)

But Urk is probably a better fit as it is better known for expressing its religious beliefs in a violent manner. Out of all the trading nations I've played the one I had the most fun with was Venice, they are really powerfull at the start and no matter how many mercs I was using to fight the Ottomans I just didn't go broke. They are only lacking a better mission tree

Best Trade Focused nation IMO is anyone in the Zanzibar node. (Preferrably Butua or Mutapa for me, but one of the madagascar nations is fine as well) You can get all that sweet sweet trade money from india and indonesia, have a supportive wonder in kilwa and can basically turn zanzibar into an end node.

Nice video! Here's a video idea: Aggressive expansion increases passively, but it is reduced by going to war effectively making peace not an option and rather mean to other nations that you wouldn't want to fight them. I think it would be funny seeing giant coalitions against tiny nations and coalition wars firing off constantly.

The hansa is great for a trade game. Lubeck is the natural pick and my favourite because of the Patrician game series. But any of the smaller trade republics can be great for a tall game. You can either stay trade focussed and small. In my last Lubeck game I united the hansa, then started blobbing and formed Germany.

My favorite trade nations are definitely malaya and Kilwa. Malaya is so good for the cloves and Kilwa gets to steal so much trade from India and Malaya and bottleneck it at South Africa before it reaches Europe

Lübeck. Netherlands are fun but imo really suck a?€ fun wise in comparison. The Trade League mechanic is really strong and unlike Venice and Genoa you are in a Great Position for a Trade League. The Mission three is Just superb. You can Form Saxony, Prussia and Germany Afterwards. Which adds Ton of Missions. So Mainly that 😅😂

Oman is my choice although it is an absolutely brutal start. The first war against hormuz usually isnt too bad but expanding past that can be pretty hard if the timurids take an interest in you. Also ming because pulling the american trade across the Pacific is fun.
