Lets look at what injectors fit into a 1uz non-vvti engine and a very quick look at the vvti 1uz or 3uz injectors
The Cartune Company (2003) Ltd in New Zealand does 1uz and 3uz conversions / parts and wiring. We have been working on UZ Toyota V8 engines since 2004 when we did our own Hiace van to transport dirtbikes around NZ. Good info there, my 1st thought was to use RX8 yellows, but in the UK a second hand set of 4 will set you back about £100, obviously need double that. But for £220 I got a set of 8 new Bosch 550cc "GT500" injectors, only downside is it has a 14mm top seal and the body is 10mm shorter. So several hours of machining needed but for the price it was worth it.

According to various sources the RX8 uses a Denso 195500-4450 (550cc), and 195500-4460 (650cc). Does that sound about right? I'm fixing to find out if the 195500-4460 work or not...

Great stuff Kel, really appreciate the insight. Question, theoretically, if first gen Soarer injectors are 250 cc, it it feasible to change them, and their computer, into a first gen LS400 for more fuel/spark = power? Would it be THAT easy to take the 180kw first gen LS400 up to say 200kw?

Hello Higgo. It would be a shitload of work for very little gain. Swapping to a UCF20 ecu and loom might be more practical and give better results. I'm presently doing a job using later ECU on early engine. I've just finished a refab on an LS400 and thinking I might have to get one as a workshop test hack. I have some many ideas to try on it. hello, do you know if you can run the 1UZ non vvti fuel rails onto the 1UZ vvti manifold? do the mounting bolts line up? I'm trying to upgrade to billet fuel rails and I want to see if they will fit on my 1UZ vvti because they are technically made for 1UZ non vvti. thank you for your time!

So I have a 97 1uz with a 91 ecu and harness running it. How can I improve my cold start since it seems I dont have a cold start injector? the computer cant keep it on in the extreme cold until it warms atleast a little bit. I have to manually hold it for a minute or so until it can hold itself alive. Advice appreciated!

Ive got videos coming on swapping harness and ecu setups very soon. The best way is to match all the components so with yours you have gone from sequential injection backwards to grouped with cold start. I would be confirming it is set up correctly as per this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/sHqqo6Gqf76jaKc Then ensure the IAC is healthy. Also the early ecu had smaller injectors so I would confirm the injectors match the ECU. Making sure all the parts are correct is the best thing to do and ensuring all the other normal stuff like there are no air leaks , ignition is in good condition etc.

Well if aftermarket RX8 injectors fit into a RX8 then chances are they are going to fit into a 1uz don't you think? Yes all interchangeable fine.

Already filmed and edited however I cheated and fitted a non egr ecu so no fitting of resistors to the ecu. Egr models are very uncommon over here.
