Thanks Suraj! The demo ones will be fun. The hard part is deciding what to demo since there are so many ways and options.

I love your videos, keep posting! I thought the animated map of tornados was really cool, do you think you could make a tutorial video on how to make animated maps like that? Thanks man.

Thanks Chip! There are loads of animation options in pro. For the tornado animation though I just exported 12 images and dropped them together into an animated gif. ezgif.com is a really nice resource for that.

Loved that, John. As, as an educator, I especially liked your reference to cognitive load - this is something I constantly have to bear in mind when planning cartography with my students. I've dabbled a bit with bivariate mapping in AGOL. How many of those tweaks you referred to in the video to make the relationships and patterns clearer are available through AGOL, and how many need ArcGIS Pro? Thanks, Alistair.

Thanks! Yeah, often a data-dense map is better off with either less data or more than one map.

Hey John, do you think ESRI will ever allow users to upload custom symbology like this to AGOL? It would be great if we could apply some of these visualization techniques online.

I'm frequently surprised by what is supported in AGOL. Sometimes you have to make it in Pro and share as a web layer, but it renders faithfully. Also you can do loads from scratch in AGOL. I'll probably hit some of this in the follow-up posts where I show how to make some multivariate maps.

@@JohnNelsonMaps Thanks! It's awesome that custom symbology can be uploaded as a web layer now. I've been trying to get custom symbology up on AGOL, but I get an error message saying the symbology is not supported. I'll stay tuned!

Hey John! Was wondering how often you use programming in your day to day mapping? :)
@JohnNelsonMaps

I can’t code, so never! A few times a year I’ll use a code snippet provided by helpful colleagues. When that happens I share the snippet in the how-to.

Enjoyed the video, thanks! I know the data isn't the point of the video, per se, but I live in North Carolina & there's no conceivable way college basketball isn't overwhelmingly preferred to pro basketball. Idk about that data source!
