I’ve got the same issue right now on a 2011 Dodge journey I found that it is the blend door actuator on the passenger side that controls the door for the ax and heating wouldn’t move Also had a few issues trying to calibrate it till I realize that the system is self calibrating there is no way to communicate with HVAC because it’s not electric

@UrbanAutomotive01 Жыл бұрын
Sorry for the late response. We have not come across that issue but it does sound like a blend door issue. If you had no heat or heat on one side a blocked heater core is more common.

I have a 2012 Dodge Journey. After many month's of research I replaced the heater core. The old hearer core became plugged up where the coolant couldn't circulate. A new heater core was around $100 bucks and now I'm getting 130 degree heat on both the drivers and passenger side. A few video's on it are posted on you tube.

I have a 2013 Dodge Journey SXT 3.6L. The car keeps overheating. I've replaced the thermostat, water pump and belt tensioner. I've had a compression test I think it was to test the head gasket 2 times and a Combustion leak test 3 times and all of them said the head gasket is fine. I can't figure it out. I'm a 71 year old female living on a small SS check. I've had it towed to the garage 2 times already due to overheating problems. I when the car first overheats I don't get any heat from any of the vents....just cold air. After it cools down a bit I get hot air from the front vents on both sides but still cold air from the rear vents. I'm at a loss here. I'm wondering if it could be the rear heater core? If it might be that, how do I test it before I send it back to the garage? I've watched 100s of videos but couldn't find any to tell me how to check that heater core or if there is even a way to do it. Can you please tell me what to do now? Is there a way to check the rear heater core without pulling the entire rear quarter panel off the inside? Thank you.

Mine is knocking on the passenger side but when the A/c is on, it's hot on the driver's (no knocking on drivers) should I replace both? Also, if I change it from defrost to anything else, it takes a good couple of minutes before it changes. Is there something that controls that? I know that I am late on this video 🙃😊

There’s a separate actuator that controls where the flow of air is going right above the actuator for passenger blend door.

Anyone have their circulation turn on and off?
@BeccaTheBoring2 жыл бұрын
There are 4 of those lend door actuators (all the same $30 part). The one that controls the recirculating air is on the right side, behind the little elastic thingy that attaches to the glove box. If you turn on the recirculation, you’ll feel it clicking. The one they show here controls if it’s coming out the feet or the dash. I still like the vid, though, because it showed me that I should take the foot vent out to see what I was doing while replacing it. Sooooo much easier to put back in and connect the selector lever! Lol!
@SlettenDerbyTeam3 жыл бұрын
The actuator you are telling everyone that will fix the heat/cool is actually the actuator that controls defrost/dash vent/foot… it’s nothing to do with heat. Highlighted in the video is not the hot/cold blend door actuator. It has nothing to do with hot/cold.

Well. That was easy. i have a 2012 Dodge Journey. Changed the heater core,changed the thermostat,changed the water pump,bled the system and in warm weather I have heat on the driver side and less heat on the passenger side and on cold weather I have little heat on the driver side and no heat on the passenger side. Explain that.
@UrbanAutomotive01 Жыл бұрын
Sound like there is still a blockage in the new heater core. Run the vehicle and check the temperature of the inlet and outlet hoses at the heater core. In our experience when replacing the heater cores on these vehicles you really have to use a good chemical cleaning flush agent and let it sit over night and then flush the cooling system thoroughly again. Heater core issues are the most common fault on these vehicles followed by defective blend doors.
@chrisathanassiadis1317 Жыл бұрын
@@UrbanAutomotive01 Thank you for the reply. I had a mechanic (obvious) do all the above. After my message above,I actually went back and he checked for air in the system and I replaced the blend door actuator on the passenger side. When closing the flap manually on the passenger side,the temperature on the passenger side went hot. When the blend door actuator was installed (he had a hard time aligning it) when using the touch screen, I still have the problem, as before. At this point , I just give up and will just live with this. I'm wondering if a specialist on heating and cooling will figure this out? I just don't know what to do.
@UrbanAutomotive01 Жыл бұрын
@@chrisathanassiadis1317 So as in the original video the issue was that the vehicle was purchased with a missing Actuator. If you remove the actuator and lock the door in place for the Winter You will have heat. Then in the Spring you can open the door for the cool air. Not the right solution but at this definitely the cheapest option. The vehicle likely needs to have the component programmed. The shop you were taking it to May not have the scanner to do that. It likely is just a simple as programming the component To work correctly. Most shops you'd be looking at the programming charge In the ball park of a $100. Hope this helps.
