What is a cap shingle?

Haven't roofed for a few decades, but I probably will need to soon. Perforated shingles are new to me. I think Owen's Corning is fiberglass ? Thank you .

The cap shingles have slotted between the different tabs so they can be broken apart easily. I should have used a different word than perforated. Sorry for the confusion. Owens Cornings "asphalt shingles use a fiberglass mat as the core substrate material, which is coated on both sides with weathering-grade asphalt." Hope it helps, thanks for the view and comment.
