Hi David. If the customer asks for some new requirements/refinements / enhancements to the end result ,product or service during the CLOSURE phase of the project , then do we Straightaway reject that request OR we route it through the CCB after doing the impact analysis ?

What is the difference between change management plan and configuration management plan?

That is an excellent question. Configuration management plan describes WHICH items are configurable (need a change request), and the Change management plan describes HOW a change is made (e.g. raise to PM, discuss at working group, take to steering committee for approval etc)

Hi David, Is Project Sponsor or Steering Committee part of Change Control Board (CCB)?

They can be - and usually are (certainly the Sponsor). The main thing is the people and process for change control is outlined in your Change Management Plan. The people who need to approve any changes become your CCB 🙂

Defect repair: fixing a defect that has already happened. Preventative action: taking action to prevent defects in the future. Corrective action: taking action to prevent future defects after finding them.

@@davidmclachlanprojectI’m a bit confused by this. If you found a defect already, wouldn’t that be defect repair? Sounds to me like defect repair and corrective action are the same - both involve the defect happening first.
