if you look around/mooch grocery stores (Albertsons-Smiths) you can get 6 - 5 - 4 and 3 gallon buckets that are all the same diameter, Gamma Seal lids fit them ALL pretty handy to have different sizes..

Great lids… Watch out for the ones at Lowe’s ( newer style ) has a single bar on top inside of the T-grab.. Getting cheap here!

I have had my gamma seal lids on my buckets for over 10 years. After the buckets are emptied, I clean and thoroughly dry them each time and refill them. I've started to notice some food particles, rice, flour etc. gets caught inside the gamma lid. Have you found a good way to keep them clean?

I purchased 12 of these about a year ago. Recently I noticed the green lids have a 2 inch split right in the middle. The other colors have not split. Have you noticed any of yours splitting? Thanks.

I haven't had any split like that. But I don't have any green either. I'd call the manufacturer--maybe they'll replace them for being defective?

+edpleasure - I have 93 buckets with gamma seal lids and only one red lid has a split in the middle. I just used packing tape to seal it up again on the inside and outside of the lid. Works great.

Hello so if I’m out of electricity and for emergency food store so I need to open the bucket do I just close it and everything’s fine or do I need to add something into it every time I open the bucket?

Nope. At least not very easily. They aren't split up the side into tabs like a standard bucket lid, so it would be tough to pry it off. I just keep refilling the buckets.

Yes, there are two gaskets. One between the ring and the bucket, and one between the lid and the ring.

yes they have two gaskets but one doesn't work because of the plastic mold lines....to test them fill with a gallon of water and turn the bucket upside down after tightening the lids as tight as you can get it..

Thank you, informative and to the point. As a side note - artificial sugar (not to be confused with glucose/fructose naturally found in fresh unheated fruits and some other plants) should be avoided. It is food for cancer cells, not for healthy bio-organisms.
