Triggs is just going to be a treasure to the right person, but that person needs to like a light moving spirited horse. And they will love him.

Very cool! I'd love to see a slo-mo flying lead change some time. Not necessarily on Triggs. I wouldn't want to stress him out, just one of your sweeties that is comfortable with it. 🌞

when I was a teen I had a little grade horse that occasionally paced! That type of gait is less comfortable to sit than a single-foot gait- or when each feet hits the ground independently. Very cool!❤

I've ridden a Paso Fino, Tennessee Walker, and a gaited Morgan. Without a doubt I would 100% recommend trying gaited horses just for the experience alone
@lostribe51303 ай бұрын
Thanks for explaining that. When I was a young kid my older sister got a gaited horse and she was so smooth. But she was really too big for me and I took care of her after my sister got married and moved off, but she needed some other horses and got surly and bit me because I just think she was unhappy and bored. So we sold her and then I started getting my own horses. But I really wanted to ride her when I got a little bigger. But by then I was just a gnat to her.

Many years ago, when I was living in New Zealand, I regularly rode a horse who was a discard from harness racing. He was a lovely-natured horse, sure-footed and calm to ride in the hilly back-country, steady as a rock in walk or a slow jog but when he got onto good ground and could pick up the pace, well ... that was his problem. He'd switch gaits at random, cantering in front and trotting behind, or vice-versa, would mix up what he was doing with his legs and you'd feel you were riding over cobblestones ... in the arena, working over poles and the like, seemed to focus his mind and he could do his different paces just fine, but outside .... He never struck himself, or even stumbled, but he could be so darned _uncomfortable_ to ride!

This is super interesting and educational. Now I need to see how other horses legs move compared to triggs! I don't know enough about horses yet to TRULY appreciate triggs the way I know I should! He is gorgeous!

Thanks for this video, and showing the transition from canter to gait! Is the 2-beat gait the same as pacing?

I think technically gaited horses do different types: pace, running walk, tolt etc. It's not our area of expertise

If you’re familiar with a gaited horse your supposed to canter them at all if u keep them in their gate then they are really smooth he’s a beautiful horse I would say Kentucky mountain saddle horse or rocky mountain saddle horse
