In my opinion, the best example of a HO Team is Alex Ogloza's US Nationals team. His team had 3 choice items, assault vest, and no protect! (Although, he did have Kings Shield on his Aegislash) His team was focused on outspeeding and OHKOing the biggest threats in 2014, especially Garchomp. The team was piloted so well by him because he was amazing with his leads, and he had amazing plans against every matchup.

the vgc style of ho is such a meme in the smogon space due to how common it is for new players to just slap a combination of wall-breakers, cleaners and sweepers on a team and calling it hyper offence for those out of the loop, 6v6 singles ho is characterised by suicide leads more than anything else

Yeah ho requires some nuiance, like in gen 4 Uxie fit perfectly on ho teams becuse it was useful having a pokemon that could take a hit. And then mémento to keep up the momentum

My favourite hyper offence came from Gen 6 when Pokéaim and a few other KZbinrs memed all over the idea of using a mono choice band team, all 6 mons had choice band and were physically attacking, and their typing or base stats were the only things keeping the team from not immediately turning to dust. Stall hated it and I love seeing stall die

I only use teams that are either centered around one gimmick, or like five different gimmicks I switch between as needed. Eg, sweeper butterfree.

I run Mean Look + No Retreat memes to get as many omnis as I want. The sableye runs Eject Button so it can switch to the following if needed: 1: Healing Support with Comfey 2: Protection Support with Clefairy 3: Comedy Psych Up User (Metagross 4: After You User if I need to put speed now. (I think it is tapus I can't remember.) {No Retreat is Falinks btw. Love the little guy)

the HO strategy is my favorite and i made my own one in gen 7 pokemon ultra sun (it's my favorite pokemon main game) and is composed of Ash Greninja Mega Charizard Y Aegislash Mega Gharchomp Yveltal Primal Groudon I know it's not the best team but I really like it and I think it's a lot of fun

I don't really understand why screens aren't used anymore. For instance prankster grimsnarl daulscreens paired with an offensive pokemon. The one time moxie encountered it he got bodied by it and there really isn't any brick break or psychic fangs pokemon in the meta, and if you encounter them just kill them before they can do anything...

Basically Balanced teams try to *balance* between their offense and defense so they always have access to defensive or offensive plays at their disposal and try to cover as much of the metagame as possible. To give an example, let's imagine a hypothetical team of : Great Tusk, Talonflame, Garganacl, Amoonguss, Flutter Mane and Indeedee (I made that one completely on the fly so don't look too much into it), with it you have access to some Defensive backbone in Garganacl and Amoonguss, you have very aggressive options with Flutter Mane and Great Tusk and Indeedee and Talonflame which offer some good support options with uses both Offensively and Defensively. The key of a Balanced team is it's versatility and ability to adapt to most matchups on the fly

Balance consists on trying to apply offensive preassure but maintaining a decent defensive core. HO is the fastest style, balance is intermedious and stall is the slowest.
