What’s the difference between oncology CLSW Vs RN case manager? Which spends more time with the patients or are they the same?
@vaughnetteshelton74244 жыл бұрын
Hello, I'm a Case Manager RN. My position requires the CM's to either be a RN, LPC, CLSW or have a Master's degree. The RN at my job does not need a Masters. If the CLSW or LPC is hired as a cm then they're doing the same job as the other CM's. If they're hired as a Therapist, then they only do therapy. They also sometimes recommend outpatient services but usually they consult with the cm and the cm will set the aftercare before the patient is discharged. It may be different at other facilities but at the psychiatric center , the positions are similar. I think the therapist may get paid more. I hope this answer your question. ☺️

OmegaGrape case management is a good alternative. Each hospital varies with the requirements for applying for a Case Manager position. Typically they hire individuals with a BSN and 2-3 years of bedside experience.

How can i get into case management with no case management experience?
@SamQuintani5 жыл бұрын
KimmyDTV typically they require that you at least have 2-3 years of direct patient care experience such as being a Med-Surg Nurse. I applied to a Case Manager position only having a few years of Med-Surg experience and no Case Management background. But you don’t know if they will get you until you apply :) . Each hospital varies on their requirements. Go for it!

After 16 years on direct patient care OR/PACU/PRE OP/WARD/ICU and Outpatient clinic Patient I am now switching to Case Manager looking forward to get my certification CCM, I am not going to lie it kinda bothers me seeing nurses that barely worked in hospital settings with direct patient care switching to an administrative position without getting the amount of experience that these positions requires. I don't know that just my opinion. I was distracted by your dog poor thing has some serious allergies lol.

Hello friend! I loved your video and I actually took notes on it because I have an interview on Monday for a RN Case Manager position. It is for a huge hospital in my area of Virginia. I have been a RN for roughly 2.5 years (14 months Med/Surg and 14 months Long-Term Care/Convalescent with a random 1.5 months of trying dialysis). I graduated in 2016 and have only worked for this healthcare system (Riverside) so, I think that really helped me get this particular interview. With that said, I technically do not meet their preferred qualifications of at least 3 years nursing experience and case management experience. They do prefer acute med/surg experience so I have that going for me. Also, I do not have a BSN, it was preferred, but not required. My questions for you are: What kind of interview questions can I expect to receive and what sort of questions should I ask them? I've been made aware of what pay I will receive. I have no experience at all with case management, referrals, or even discharging to be honest. I worked nights and we RARELY discharged patients during night shift. I want to have great questions prepared but do not want to come off as completely clueless. Basically, I would appreciate any insight on how to best prepare for the interview. Thanks so much for your video and I hope to hear from you soon! Take care!

Heyy how was your interview? I would like to know how did you find this job with no case management experience?
@nickperkins24715 жыл бұрын
@@KimmyDTV My Interview went very well! I got the job and start on May 28th! The director of Case Management loved me and iterated that she prefers to have somebody with no experience and a great attitude versus somebody with experience and a bad attitude. She said that she has no issues training me. I found the job looking through job postings through my current hospital group. I have worked as an RN with the same company for 2.5 years. I saw this position become available so I decided to apply.

the problem is people dont usually feel like having people all wound up like you are, jumping around etc. so I dont think the disrespect was anything personal. some people just dont like the loud behavior, thats all. you have to come down to their level, their mood. its a skill. maybe you dont have that skill. not sure. as for feeling like a servant, you basically are in this job right? everyone serves someone. unless you are the boss or are self employed. its the job. maybe you are too young and cant handle it. Heres the thing- Ive been highly upset when Ive come into the ER and sometimes I get a receptionist who gets back in my face because she feels she is not being respected, wake up call- you guys are supposed to be in a professional position, so you have to be able to handle people nicely who are otherwise not so nice because they are under so much stress or pain. take the fidgety-ness down a little and you might fare better- even as a case manager
