There should also be a video made on other, somewhat less commonly encountered illegal traps, such as drum traps, bell traps and house traps, you might encounter one of these in a very old home, and in this tight housing market a first-time buyer purchasing a fixer-up may find it beneficial.

you should do the video again The bucket is preventing the S trap from siphoning the trap dry.

The bucket is not preventing the S trap from siphoning dry.

@@morganinspectionservices3840why does the water fail to level out after the sink is done draining? The water is higher on the bucket side than it is on the sink side of the S trap. I can't wrap my head around that.

Did not SEE the S trap running in the demo?
@morganinspectionservices3840 Жыл бұрын
It’s there. You just don’t get the turbulent water flow like you saw with the P-trap for some reason. Look between about 2:35 and 2:40.

So the p trap eventually runs straight down just like the S strap so what causes it to not do the same thing😊

@@t.j.bennett6454 there's a tee following the horizontal section which has a vent. My understanding is that the S vs P shape isn't the defining thing, but having a vent or air admittance valve to break the syphon. The S and P shapes are then not the reason for different performance, but just the standard looks of no vent vs vent
