How much electricity will be required for the rail gun? If we can produce instant electricity for the gun, problem of electricity can be solved, it is possible by permanent magnetic generator. Regarding melting the rails of rail gun, use carbon - carbon composit in place of Iron or it's alloy. It will be lighter, harder and very high resistance to heat. But to make it electronically conductive, you have to mix some very conductive material in it. It can be make it conductive. As a matter of strongely repulse the rails to back wards, use good type of sock absorber. Your problems will be solved.
