I regularly use a Noodler‘s Boston Safety Pen, which works great with inks that otherwise would have a tendency to clog the feed. And it is made from ebonite as well which like very much for the touch of it. I still have to repair a vintage safety, in my last attempt to fix it I couldn’t get it to seal properly.

I was just thinking of safety pens after someone's video saying he didn't understand the point of the MontBlanc Boheme. Though the Boheme being a cartridge converter is seems more of an homage to safety pens.

I recently got into safeties, and was able to find a larger 45 safety pen - which is awesome as the safety pens typically skew towards the smaller side! One thing I've learned, is to be wary of restoration jobs on these pens. One of mine was sold as restored, but was leaking when filled. Turned out there was a new cork seal and o rings, and neither were fitted correctly! I replaced with my own o rings and the pen works beautifully.
@CraigRoccanova9 ай бұрын
My eBay purchase one I thought was restored (was not) and that thing leaked like crazy. THERE WAS INK EVERYWHERE haha! Congrats on your 45! I recently got a big 515VS (but I just sold it over the weekend). It’s a BIG pen!
