I had to google this because I just saw red lightning which I now know is known as Sprite. This happen in Southern California near Los Angeles 3.16.23 near 12AM. I have it on footage

Red sprites dont last for a few seconds. They last about a quarter of a second in the sky.

Well, you gotta know that there's not just the charged particles from ground to cloud, I imagine it continues all the way up thru the cloud towards space just like it does under it.... Very cool.

Kind of like the equivalent of a solar flare from a sun spot. Only these are earth flares from an earth spot.

We had red lightning last month along with green and blue in Oklahoma. 116 mph winds downtown where i lived. It wasn't transformers blowing. It was the worse storm ive seen. It destroyed tulsa Oklahoma and much of it. I was alone too. 116-118 mph winds, i thought it was over.

I copy pasted my comment from a different video about ball lightning, so context might be backwards So what I've pieced together so far is it may require the rare positive lightning strike environment. (as opposed to 90% of lightning strikes being negative) Additionally when it strikes, if the environment is suitable for something about "microwave radiation" this ball of lightning could form. People have mentioned specifically kitchens seeing it come through the windows? It's also mentioned trace metals may be necessary for the environment. It was mentioned about a family residing essentially on a hill of iron, claiming to have witnessed it at their home multiple times. Ultimately, it seems to be a bizarre form of lightning trying to find it's homeostasis again. Extremely rare chances for the environment and the sub-environment to be suitable for formation. You see people speak about it as if they've seen it with their own eyes. But it's so uncommon and odd, I bet it's hard for people who haven't experienced to considered even believing it exists. I've never experienced this but it sort of logically balances out to me from all I've recently read about. What a wild phenomena! This phenomena could be way deeper too, considering the other newly discovered and widely unknown phenomena lightning sprites. Which form way way high into our atmosphere above the clouds of a thunderstorm. They seem to go hand in hand the sprites and thunderstorms, leading me to believe there's a whole system process going on above clouds influencing the weather we see below them. The ball of lightning thing may even be related with sprites somehow. Nature is amazing

It's this too that if the red lightning is on top of the sky it means that there's not gonna air so that means your gonna die or if it comes from the ground it means that your not gonna digits rare

Pernah ngalamin 1x seumur hidup. Di langit Jawa timur tepatnya Gresik . Pas ngaji , dulu tahun 2010 kisaran waktu sore selepas ujan lebat . Tiba" ada sambaran petir warna merah menyala suaranya juga paling keras dari semua petir yang warna putih , terang banget sampe di dalem ruangan kena cahaya dari sambaran tersebut lewat jendela jadi warna merah smua . There are objects in the sky that we cannot see with the naked eye, when lightning strikes, these objects get overvoltage and from the lower end it strikes like a root system and upwards like the stem and inflorescence of a "plant", the object itself is in the middle. The object itself looks like a striped cylinder, sometimes they fly like that in the sky and they are tangled together, it is possible that they are male objects, which are then around the female object.
