@@caroldawson3193 we used to keep patients in slings for a long time but for a simple subacromial decompression there is no structure to protect and the longer the patient is in a sling the more risk of stiffness. I would ask your surgeon to explain why you need 6 weeks in a sling. I could be because they are planning to repair something as well that would need protecting.

Yes 2 tendons one has come of the bone n the other is damaged too n muscle at bk os also torn n I am having arthritis scraped off top of the shoulder its covering it preventing me frm lifting very painful too.@ShoulderLondon

So the corachromial ligament is not repaired? Why is it just left detached? Won't that create instability.

No it doesn’t. The CA ligament on its own doesn’t provide stability to the shoulder or AC joint. In fact it is used in some operations as a spare ligament moved to the clavicle to help replicate the CC ligaments.

Interesting video.l am due this procedure soon. The doctor has talked of shaving some of the bone to create space for the tendons to glide.One of my shoulder tendons has thickened after injury causing pain and mechanical issues.
