If somebody has Issues understanding it here a GPT response : The statement "the moral of the story is not that we obtain enlightenment, but that enlightenment obtains us" means that enlightenment is not something we actively achieve or acquire, but something that happens to us or envelops us. It represents a shift in how we understand the concept of enlightenment. Here are some points to explain this idea: Enlightenment as a Passive Experience: Instead of viewing enlightenment as a goal we reach through effort, study, or meditation, it is seen as an experience that grasps or encompasses us. We are not the active agents who "obtain" enlightenment; rather, enlightenment is something that occurs to us in a given moment. Letting Go of the Ego: The idea implies that the pursuit of enlightenment is often driven by the ego. The belief that we can achieve enlightenment through our own efforts or abilities might be rooted in egoistic thinking. Understanding that enlightenment obtains us emphasizes the need to let go of ego and personal ambition. Receptivity Instead of Effort: Instead of focusing on how we can achieve enlightenment, it might be more about how we can open ourselves up and become receptive to this experience. It is less about what we do and more about how we are and how we engage with life and spirituality. Nature of Enlightenment: This perspective highlights that enlightenment is something beyond the individual self. It is a transformative experience that comes from a higher power or deeper consciousness and is not achieved solely through human effort. In summary, the statement suggests that enlightenment is not achieved through our active efforts but that we must open ourselves to the possibility that enlightenment can envelop and transform us. It requires a shift in perspective from active pursuit to passive receptivity and a deep trust in the process.

I actually like the ramun wisdom analogy, adding what the master said. You may break the glass to find your marble to find it’s not as enjoyable without the glass. As in, you may spend your time hyper fixating on finding your wisdom, but once you find it you’ve destroyed all happiness it could bring by not appreciating everything else. That’s what I get from it, anyway
@givlupi26864 ай бұрын
A marble by itself is boring, but the marble in the glass bottle is exciting because you can see it but you can't get it. Some things in life only have value because they're always out of reach, and then are worthless when we finally have them.
@xandertreelimb4 ай бұрын
Ah close. The true answer is the glass can hold the marble. Breaking the glass you can’t carry it with you.
@spugintrntl4 ай бұрын
You could cut the plastic top off, preserving the bottle and freeing the marble, and that way you can put the marble back in the bottle when you're done with it. It would be easier to lose, though, if you carried the bottle with you. Everything is a tradeoff I guess.

There was a big buddist festival in our country and some monks made chocolate budda that melts in hot water or milk. Some asked "isnt eating that blasphemous?" And the monks told them "Budda is not held in one shape as the wisdom does. Eating it does not mean blasphemous, but getting closer to the ultimate enlightment." I really love buddist

@@lonestarr1490 Oh easy - thats because you feel better about yourself when you find meaning where meaning wasn't necessary the point. Maybe there was general meaning for everyone, maybe there was a subjective meaning which only author truly understands, maybe there was no meaning and author just wanted to fuck with you. The point is - you feel good when you thinks you found meaning, it somehow makes you feel better then somebody. And it is interesting how in abstract art most viewers divide into two categories - the ones who thinks it's shit because there is no obvious meaning or beauty, and the ones who thinks it's brilliant, because they think they decipher hidden meaning and think it is brilliant. But in reality abstract art isn't about art as a thing - it's about you as viewer (or you as a creator). It doesn't tell anything about art or about you as a person wether you can't find meaning or think that you found it. It only provides a notion that something resonates with you in that art. That's all, no more no less.

@lonestarr14904 ай бұрын
@@ВолодимирМахнюк-ю4х I'm familiar with the concept behind abstract art. You explained it quite succinctly, though. And I agree: finding meaning feels good. But that's actually not what I meant here. I enjoy the state of confusion itself, not necessarily the (probably imaginary) way out of it. I also enjoy absurd humor (or at least some variations of it). I don't necessarily need to find meaning in things. The search for it is already worthwhile on its own. Either that, or it's just about the novelty, who can really tell.

Master Nissin has good points, student initially thinks that happiness can be found anywhere, but you need true wisdom to pick the right path that will lead to happiness. The purpose of a noodle is to satiate a person and give him energy to pursue his goals, something portable and quick to make is perfect for this, having fancy noodles does have it's own purposes but it should not be confused with the purpose of a true noodle that is an example of true wisdom. However student did not fully comprehend true wisdom yet, pursuit of happiness absorbed him, robbing him of joys of life, I am sure Master Nissin will guide him through these times as well he just wants him to expereince it first hand, also ramune is so nice.

Also like the glass marble and the simple "break the glass", because while the marble is better in the glass, sometimes in life the only way to make something better is to break the structure, and a simple answer is a good reminder of that.
