Wow, pretty wild so many people want their wedding filmed in vertical mode. I switched to HD camcorders in 2004 to make all the videos future proof. Back then everyone said why bother as 4:3 was more popular at the time. In 20 years vertical may be out of style if VR viewing takes off. Very cool it gets posted by the next morning!

When you take over your clients social media account to post real time, are you getting their log in info and then posting from your phone? Or are you using their phones?

Thank you for the info! My only question is- how do you not* compete with the videographer? Like what are they not capturing that you are? And if a bride was in a budget, couldn’t she just get a friend or special guest to record the bts stuff? Just trying to look at this from all angles! 😊 with that said. I still totally love the idea of a content creator. It looks so fun!!

My services capture a different angle than a videographer. I want to capture the behind the scenes of your guests that perhaps the videographer won't catch. This is also a great service for people who want to share snipits of their big day on social media via Stories, TikToks, or Reels!

@PlanWithLaur but I've seen lots of content creators posting vertical highlights films, snippets of the day edited chronologically, essentially doing videography with a phone?

What's the difference between content creation and Videography?

So do you post directly to the bride's social media? So they give you access? Or you post to yours and add them as a collaborator? I'm just so curious about the logistics of this!
@PlanWithLaur6 ай бұрын
have done both! mostly the former though, posting on the couple's socials. I have more details in a blog post titled "Unveiling the Magic" on my website

I'm just getting into wedding content creation myself and I'm having trouble getting wedding jobs to shoot! How did you find your clients?
@PlanWithLaur7 ай бұрын
I first started in the event space! I’d suggest trying to shadow/shoot other wedding vendors (florist, planners, venues) to help build your portfolio + network!
@PlanWithLaur7 ай бұрын
hi Paul!! it's the hardest part so take heart, it will come. Do you come from a wedding / event background? If you do I would recommend leveraging relationships w/ vendors you've worked with to work on your portfolio. Some may be willing to have you come along and capture BTS content of them at weddings, which gets you "in the room". If you know any planners or day-of coordinators they may be willing to have you work for or with them as well! Another avenue is working with couples to shoot wedding-adjacent events like showers, engagement parties. GOOD LUCK!

@@PlanWithLaur That's a really good idea thank you so much! Will do my best to get in the room then build momentum from there 🙏

So you have the couples do things three times? Because no one is gonna want you in the shot. Usually content creators just hang out next to me, not directing couples and getting their own setups as there is often not enough time for a third person to get them. It should be more BTS style and not another shooter directing and basically getting in the way of the pros. 😊
@PlanWithLaur6 ай бұрын
It always depends on the client, of course. It sounds like the WCCs you've worked with have just hung by your side, but it doesn't mean that's the only approach, or even the right one (and it's not mine). Transition videos aren't going to happen without me, so if my clients want them, trying to sneak them into a dead moment in the timeline is stressful for all involved. This is why I find a 5-10 minute content block with the planner and client. Of course I'm not sneaking into your shot - that's called professionalism! Hope we get the chance to work a future wedding so you can experience a different approach!

Is it ideal to get a content creator for an elopement
@PlanWithLaur10 ай бұрын
I’m shooting three elopements this year! So it just depends on what you are looking for from your wedding day!

Hi! How much money can a wedding content creator can charge?
@PlanWithLaur Жыл бұрын
There are so many variables that contribute to pricing, different service offered, if they're willing to travel, etc. You can make as much or as little as you want depending on what you want to offer and do!
