I was bullied and screamed at by a coworker and when I got upset and had a panic attack I was offered a Figgit bit, then told to go home when I just needed a few minutes. Workplace don’t understand about ptsd

Yeah most workplaces do not have Managers who would respond that kindly though. Mental illness is mocked in my workplace and my Manager is who triggered my PTSD.

I really identify with the fear around not being able to articulate the trauma as I go into a numb state where I am unable to speak at all if my CPTSD is triggered and i would find it helpful at times like this to be assisted in writing or even speaking,

What would be some reasonable accommodations for cptsd and anxiety endured exacerbated over two years by a an abusive manager and hostile co-workers (other than leaving, I know).

I have a learning disability, attempting to establish child support with the court has been horrible. I requested accommodations for the trial that too 7 years to finally have & requested accommodations for DYXCALCULA, DYSLEXIA & ADHD Iwas told there was no accommodations for that type of Disability. The hearing was virtual and they miscalculated support I did not notice until I picked up the court notes. I filed a motion to correct there mistakes & was denied a year later, they included there mistake in the final order. Very frustrating to feel taken advantage of due to a difference that still should have had a fair trial.

I'm Appealing the Order & now have to write an Initial Brief in a very daunting order by next week. I'm disabled & can't afford an attorney to get them to correct there errors. They were off by -12K from the state guidelines & did not include the correct # of children for 2 of the years, it should not have been so complicated to go by the Law.

I think he might have experienced compassion fatigue ... because the ways he looks and speaks and expresses emotions on his face are incredibly compassionate.

Logically it would seem that people should be better placed into jobs that they can do that aren't traumatic for them. Like a person who is traumatized by doing paperwork shouldn't be hired to do paperwork. People who have fear of heights aren't usually hired to be high rise window washers.

I'll be going to work soon (having dealt with chronic ptsd at a younger age from an extended time in a childhood sexual situation. And still working to heal the side effects of post ptsd lol) I got a job where I will be working in a healthy environment with strictly female coworkers. And I plan on explaining to my manager my triggers and things that make me emotionally uncomfortable. So thank you so much for this video.

Hey Swift... Your company has a lot to learn. I'm Glad I don't have the tolerance for this. The third time I am harassed by a boss when asking for accommodations is the last time, full stop. I've driven fourteen hours in a rotted out pickup truck at night, after work, because I had enough. Was it rational? No. Do I regret it? Heck no. I met a hitchhiker outside of Louisville and vented while she vented about her asshole roomate that kicked her out that night. Then leaving louisvile I hit a fault in the road and had to pull into a rest stop to check for damages; while doing that a biker came in for the same reason and I helped him fix his saddle bag with a handy roll of duct tape while we spoke foundly about our mutual home state.
