I've heard Gianni Buttice say on a live stream on more than one occasion to ask him questions, as in his own words ''I'm an FPL expert''. Proper cringe!

Yeah Gianni is just very arrogant and loves himself! Can’t stand him, so just don’t watch him

I'm definitely not an expert. This week I got 20 points with Salah captain :)

Another really interesting show lads. I do think that people often confuse expertise with simply having a bit of insight into a subject, or just being interested enough to be considered well read on it. Anyway as with most things it's a really subjective issue. What isn't subjective IMO is that Planet FPL really is the best Podcast on KZbin regarding all things FPL - I'm not an expert though.

great video lads, hello Clayton if you are reading this 😄

I’ve worked with many psychologists (and other professional groups!) who are far far from being ‘experts’….its a subjective label.

3 cents agree with Clayts, that an expert (similarly to teachers) also needs and ability to explain and talk about stuff he "knows" that's where James comes in with weekly reviews - mostly I don't watch them for FPL side of things, but more generally to hear how each team fares (as a fan of the league itself, not only FPL) so James - you're not an expert on any of these clubs you talk about, but with enough football knowledge & your abilities for some people you are the go-to option for these stuff --> of course there are multiple other sources, some of them better/more knowledgeable etc. BUT people also don't have time to search & verify every possible source ---> that's why "locally" in my head you would be 'the expert' meaning "go-to person about stuff X"

i remember years ago when the ideal double up was ramsey and yaya toure...they killed it from midfield

No player is essential. It is always the combination of players. It doesn't matter how well they are doing at all. Its a team game

I think the word used a lot in the medical field is “specialist”, rather than expert. “I’ve been to the gp and he’s referring me to a specialist” for example. And I think as you say, expert kinda brings an accountability of what you say. Like you have to be always right in what you say. Whereas specialist I kinda think takes that away and can just be someone who devotes a lot of time into something and who can explain what it is very easily to someone who doens t know much about it. In fact on Google it’s defined as “a person who concentrates primarily on a particular subject or activity” “possessing or involving detailed knowledge or study of a topic” Bit boring there. 😂 but yeh. Really enjoyed the chat. I think you’re definitely a fpl expert James. Although I get why you’re uncomfortable with that word. And definitely a spurs specialist. And indeed a football tactics specialist Knows way more than the average fan.

Expert ia definitely the one for me. What does it mean and what qualifies someone as an FPL expert? FPL towers is the one I see using the term.

So many content creators draw up an "experts team" by polling a random number of random people. It's hilarious.

Imo, it's impossible to be an 'expert' in a game that requires a fair slice of consistent luck to be successful.
@owengoldberg7253Ай бұрын
I would call these people knowledgable in a niche topic. But not an expert. Keep the term expert for professions where it’s proven on paper with their history of success
@hardslapper2868Ай бұрын
Why would an expert have to be good at explaining their decision to others. Surely that is a description of an expert content creator. A mute is surely capable of being an expert based on more relevant factors such as pioneering great stratagies.

Vardy in for muniz. Fpl expert is a joke. Its mad. Nobody can predict the future. You can have people who only pick safe picks but does that make them an expert or boring???

Expert as I know it is 10,000 hrs dedicated to a certain subject. So only someone who has thought about FPL an avg 5 hrs per day for the last 5.5yrs shoudl be able to call themselves an Expert. TBF thats gonna be a fair few people by now. On that basis James gotta be an 'Expert' Spurs Supporter. It's not about right or wrong, its about depth of understanding. Or at least it shoudl be.
