looking at 3:27 of the video if i wanted to sell 1000 at the price of 97 since there are bids for 99 and 98 does that mean a part of my order would have been partially filled and i would have gotten extra money for some of it? i hope i make sense....

Hey BRUSS LEE - Yes. However, we must also consider the quantity. Assume we are selling 1000 with a limit price of 97. Based on the order book at 3:27, our partial fills/executions would go like this. 100 @ 99 250 @ 98 380 @ 97 This gives us a total of 730 filled leaving us left with 1000 - 730 = 270. The question is, "what happens to the 270"?

(bottom red at the order book with price tag of 97) ? also same would apply if i posted order to sell 1 bitcoin for 5k usd even tho highest bid currently is 9k that means i actually get 9k for it (4k more than i actually listed it for) did i get that right? thanks for fast reply btw

No problem. And yes, you are spot on. Note that with limit orders, the limit price is not exactly the "list price". Consider your btc example of posting an order to sell 1 btc for 5k. We would say that you are listing an order to sell 1 btc for "any price" that is at or above 5k. Since there exists buyers at 9k, the exchange/broker will match your order with those buyers.
