Hope this comment finds you. Have you looked into Sensory processing disorder? I literally just found out my 5 year old might have it & that my 9 year old who has really bad anxiety, PSD might be the reason for the anxiety!!! I just wanted to share that with you from one Mama to another because until now I’ve never even heard of it. Hope & Pray your son is doing amazing.

I can't wait to watch the rest of the videos with him. Please keep going!

This is the first KZbin video I have ever commented on, let alone liked. That’s how much I liked it. My 8 year old has serve anxiety and I have been trying to help her for 3 years. You are the first video that helped her immensely. Thank you. Please keep these videos coming and please help us parents learn more skills to help us and our children navigate this issue that is not talked enough about. She started showing signs in kindergarten and getting her help was jumping through hoops and cutting more red type then anyone should have to. I wish I could say that I have found the solution for her after 3 years but I still have to keep going back to the drawing board. Again thank you for such an uplifting way to explain this to her. I will be showing her more of your videos to help her understand she can fight this and it doesn’t have to control her. You’re putting good and education into the world.

My 7 year old son son and I just watched your video. He started talking to me about what worries him. He doesn’t like the dark or being too far away from mom and dad. Thank you for letting him know he is not alone. As a society, we do not talk about our feelings enough nor do we help each other learn how to regulate them. Your work is so important. We made a connection with you and look forward to your next video.

I started watching because my 8yo is showing signs of anxiety (stomach aches, bad thoughts, low self esteem etc.). I actually burst into tears watching this video because it hit me that I have anxiety! All the things you mentioned are things that my brain tells me. My main one is that people I love will die and the worst possible case scenario can and will happen. My life revolves around these thoughts and I annoy people with my over thinking. I think my emotional breakdown was because I have hope that I can change and live without them. I can't wait to share this video with my family and to start learning more. Thank you SO much for sharing!!

We found your videos today. They are very helpful. Thank you. From my kid “My anxiety is about tests, like any kind of test that I do, I get nervous and scared. I feel like I can’t do anything and I just freeze. I don’t know what to do. This also includes when the teacher asks me a question… if I don’t understand one part of the overall question the entire question is lost on me because my anxiety takes over and I melt.”

So thankful for these video series for kids! It is exactly what we needed! My daughter refuses to go to a counselor to help work through strategies to deal with her anxiety but actually sat and stayed within listening distance for this video (which is huge for her). Thank you for your videos, I’m 14 and my anxiety started when I was leaving my grandparents house once and travelling a long way back home, at first me nor any of my family knew what was happening because I stayed in the washroom throwing up basically all night. One time when it was happening one of my family members stayed up all night with me trying to help and thought it could be anxiety, which unfortunately it is/was and not just food poisoning. I think I have separation anxiety which is sort of embarrassing since I’m getting older but I cannot stop the irrational thoughts from coming I have tried breathing exercises, just nothing seems to work. In 3 days I’m going to a sleep away summer camp and I’m getting quite anxious but your videos are helping me understand what’s going on and I might show my parents so they can get more of an idea of how I feel, sorry this was so long but thank you.

I’ve been watching KZbin and reading comments for many years, and I’ve NEVER commented. However, I HAVE to tell you how much I deeply appreciate this. Even in my mid-40s, both videos I’ve seen on your channel about anxiety completely resonate with me more than any other mental-health related video I’ve seen. You explain things so clearly rather than just technically, I can connect with the content and see how it applies. You’re speaking to my inner child as well, because I didn’t understand why I’d experienced certain terrifying episodes (which I’ve never shared with anyone). Because you don’t talk down to the viewer or hold back info, this is helpful for kids and adults of all ages. Both my teen children have anxiety as well, and I want to show them these and open up a dialogue, because I’ve never been good at discussing it with them in a way they could receive and relate to it like I know they need. Thank you, THANK YOU!!!! I look forward to more videos like this. I believe the more we understand, the better we manage situations, and through your videos, I’m going to help educate my children and heal myself in the process.

Thank you Tara. Your comment touched my heart ❤️. That is my goal for this channel - to reach not only children and teens, but people of all ages who just need a simple approach to what can be a debilitating condition. I am happy to hear my work is having a positive impact in your life.

Thank you so much for doing these videos I just found them yesterday. My now 10 year old daughter has anxiety and has had it for years I just never knew she did I thought it was a behavioral problem. Everything you say and every example you give I say to myself omg she does that or yep that's her. Her anxiety issues are bed time anxiety. She gets up ever 10 to 20 minutes and it takes her hours to finally fall asleep. Because of your videos I have been able to talk to her about it and teach her the tools you taught me in the video to over come her anxiety her bully as we call him now. She opened up and told everything she things of at night and all the feeling she gets in her body at night and I was able to tell her the things that you said about it. It also made me realize that my sons anger is really anxiety from thing that no one likes him or everyone thinks that his ideas or dumb or that the things that he likes are stupid. Thank you so much for your videos I know they will continue to help me and my daughter and my whole family stand up to our anxiety.

Hello, Great Video.. My 11 year old son out of the blue informed me of thoughts he was having during a vacation last week. He said his thoughts would make his stomach hurt and that they were annoying because they kept coming back. " what if what is happening to me is a bigger problem than just being anxious", "what if I cant fall asleep and I am the only one awake at night", "when I apologized for breaking my cousins toy I did not say it the right way I should have said it diffrent"(all day thought)..He is straight A student, and an amazing athlete who had just been accepted into an elite athletic program..This is all new to him and the fear and not understanding of what is going on. He says when he is bored it gets worse. Sorry for writing so much..We are going to get him professional help but he is currently staying with Grandma for the summer as he always has. My wife and I have never felt with anything like this and to see him change over night is very scary.. Thank you for listening

My 9 year old son has seen this three times, and each time he absorbs and learns a little more. I'm especially grateful for that since he is very uncomfortable talking about his anxiety and OCD, even with me! He laughs every time at the part where you explain that people don't go around saying, "Hi, I have a bologna sandwich, and I have anxiety." The visuals you add to your content teaching the kids really helps explain better what you are saying as well as entertaining him in the process. Can't wait to see more and see you help walk my son through learning how to beat the Bossy Voice and the Worry Cloud!

Glad to see your experiment was a success. I feel like my anxiety is almost like and addiction. I go from one anxious thing to the next, I always find another thing to be anxious about. What’s with that ?

I am 12 years old and watched this with my mom. I would like to see a video about "Just Right" OCD and anxiety. I am learning how to flick it away like you said. Thank you.

Thank you for helping the littles fight anxiety. My sweet 5 year old was made fun of for having food on her face at lunch time back in Pre-k, it has stuck with her and the impact is she refuses to eat in front of others. It seems to be getting worse, as she will turn down her favorite foods or treats to avoid potentially being teased. She hates people watching her eat. She is so tender hearted and I so wish she wasn’t battling anxiety, especially anxiety that is causing food aversion. It’s sad watching her positive self-esteem get pushed aside by her anxiety. Any tips for helping her recover from this?

Can you do a video about school anxiety? Specifically, over-focusing on grades and stressing over every assignment and every point? The feeling of having too much to do when they have done everything they need to do to be successful.

Sure that is a good topic. I’ll do it for the next video on Thursday.

This is great! Please do one on emetophobia.

Emetophobia is one of the first videos I’ll do when I break out into specific topics. So far it looks like Emetophobia, separation anxiety, school refusal and social anxiety are at the top of the topic list. The next few videos will be on how to beat anxiety/OCD in general.

I'm not sure, but I think I had some anxiety going wayyyy back to early elementary school (1970s): I was afraid in gym class, of A. tumbling and a bit later, B. climbing a super high rope to the ceiling of the gym. I couldn't hack it, was terrified! Mainly was terrified in both cases of hurting myself. I wanted to kill the gym teacher. LOL But I loved dodgeball! Go figure. I wasn't a timid kid, but I wasn't as fearless as many kids are. Maybe it was minor phobias or something. Not sure. It kind of passed later on.

Thank you for doing this. My son suffers from anxiety, mostly due to his ADHD, Dyslexia & other learning differences, & Speech & Language impairment. His anxiety is growing in school & tutoring so much so in Middle School and we need help. Can you please address test anxiety, shutting down in the classroom, perfectionism, being afraid to make mistakes, etc? Thank you again!!

I am currently working on an online social anxiety class. Hopefully that will be available pretty soon. I’ll definitely be doing videos on that topic. The issue is near and dear to my socially anxious heart 😜.
