The thing is though, lets use the up and exercised scenario: so you put 1 BTC in at a spot price of 30k, your strikes at 40K, when it matures BTCs at 45K, YOU DONT GET 45K WORTH OF BTC THOUGH, you only get 40K worth plus the interest for the month. So its not that good because you would have lost out on 5k worth of profit had you just hodled in a binance savings account getting .5-7% APY.

@@selviipie4082 the way i understand it, it is like someone offers you a bet where (for up and exercised) they bet that for example BTC will be above 40k by the due date and by putting your money in, you bet against them. your benefit of betting when you win (settlement price below 40k) is your apy. their benefit when they win (settlement price above 40k) is that they exchange whatever you staked, lets say 1 BTC, into BUSD which might be 45k by then, but they only give you the strikes price worth of what you staked and keep the rest. thats the way the bet is made up and the reason why the apy is so high, because there's some risk involved. might be wrong on this though

I understand the Settlement date is with respect to UTC. My doubt is if the settlement date is (consider) 30th April. How is the strike price calculated? Is this an average price for the entire day? or is the price recorded at a certain time? like 30th April @ hours (Midnight) ? Your response is highly appreciated.

Opportunity risk. It's NOT high risk in terms of losing your assets. It is all opportunity risk. For one, you can't sell your assets until the settlement date. Secondly, if the asset's price goes beyond the strike price, you'll only receive the strike price+interest in BUSD instead of being able to sell the actual asset itself.

I do not see where is the risks. If I understood well this is the best way of hodling BTC no ? Because if the price dumps I get more BTC and if the prise goes up I get more stablecoins ready to be swapped into BTC. The only risk I see is that this product doesn’t allow us to redeem when we want to. Binance team, am I right ?

@Paul kawano, Yes.. You are right.. When BTC price drops, you get more BTC.. The problem is, the value of your returns (BTC) may less than the amount (USD) you deposited/invested. No problem, if you hold the returned BTC and wait for increasing the BTC price, and sell them in a better price, you will obviously be profited.

Don't fall for high APY rates. Subscribe for highest strike Price in up-and-exercise and lowest strike price in down-and-exercise. Simply means u don't want the product to get exercised. Chance of loss will be low. Telling from my own experience.

I don't understand. How can one lose in this scenario? You either get the full BTC back + interest, or you get the value of the exercised BTC back + interest. In both cases you are in profit. You only lose in the sense that you might not get the full appreciation if you sold the bitcoin at the new price, but still, in both cases you are in absolute profit. Did I miss something?

You only get back what you put in if the price target isn’t met or exceeded. Otherwise, you only get back the amount at the target price, which may be worse than if you were to simply convert at market prices. For example, if you subscribe to a USDT/BTC dual investment at strike price of 20k. Market prices are 21k and you invest USDT. By the time of expiry, market prices for BTC dropped to 15k Binance will convert/Sell your USDT + pay your premium in BTC at the target price of 20k/BTC , which is a worse rate than manually converting to market rate of 15k/BTC. You would receive less BTC than if you were to simply convert at market rates. You essentially lose 5k/BTC, and you will only break even if BTC climbs back to the 20k level or above again.

I put BNB at strike price 285 BUSD, a few h ours later it reached 287 BUSD, so what is gonna happen at 4/10 (subscription ends) if BNB = 260 BUSD for example, that's what I don't get. I thought when bnb reaches 285 it converts to busd and gets in my wallet but apparently it d oesn't lol

Since not everyone seems to know exactly about the risks of double investment, I will explain it clearly. First of all, there are two major risks. 1. Even though the price has risen higher, you can only get back the set target price. = In this case, you miss out on a situation that could have been more profitable. However, I don't think this is a big loss since it is still a profit due to interest. What is really important is case 2. 2. If it is automatically sold at a price you do not want to sell it for. = Let’s assume a situation where you purchase BTC for $40,000 and want to earn interest through double investment. If BTC is currently lowered to $30,000, the target price that gives high interest is near $30,000. If you set that price as the target price and the transaction is made on the closing date, you sold it for less than $40,000, so no matter how high the interest rate, the loss cannot be covered. In conclusion, whether the price goes up or down, you are better off just holding BTC.

In your opinion, even if you buy 1 BTC for $40,000 and sell it through Dual Investment for $30,000, it's not bad, because you can just buy it back in the market for $30,000, right? **However, in most case, the market price will always be higher than the target price** Let me give you an example. Let's say you purchased BTC for $40,000 and Dual Investment sets a target price of $30,000. If the market price is $35,000 on the last settlement date, your target price will be triggered at $30,000 and you will earn $30,000 + interest($). Since the interest amount is not large, it is difficult to purchase 1 BTC again with $35,000. The assumption you mentioned is very rare. For that to happen, your target price would have to be exactly the market price on the settlement date. In conclusion, if you are forced to sell your BTC for less than the initial purchase price through Dual Investment, the market price will always be higher than that price, so you will inevitably suffer losses exceeding the interest income. I always welcome objections and would like you to point out my any mistakes.

If the coin price go up or equal you will loose the profit you had made if you would keep the crypto coin free without puting there, the money you earn is calculated plus the price that shows there, you see that in some cases there it offer a big procentage interest, there is the risk you loose profit if the crypto coin go above or equal that price until the end of the period that is show there...if there is r eth price 4550 busd, if the price of the eth goes up to say 4700 or equal you will recieve 4550+the interest calculated there to say 4556, but if you put 1 eth you loose 144 busd at the end period, hope you understand, the smaller is the risk the smaller is the interest where the coin price is higher...just watch and calculate, if you are lucky and after you get the interest in busd and the eth price go below 4550 you buy more with 6 busd and you have profit multiplying the coin...

I think this is stupid. imagine you have 100 busd and your strike price is 20,000 so basically you bought 100 worth busd at 20,000 price so you will get (100/20,000)=.005btc now the price reach to 28k your .005btc is worth (.005*28,000)=140 busd and yet you will just get 104busd. where is the 36busd? :D correct me if Im wrong.
