I love using brusho when making cards as I can stamp on top of the coloured background in black which is very effective. You could also use black watercolour paint to paint silhouettes of trees etc. The possibilities are endless.

Just brilliant - no stopping you now. Thanks for the great tips. I have one to create bubbles for an undersea background: - whip up some foam from washing up liquid - spread about an inch thick over your paper (you need a heavy weight 300 gsm+ as it gets very wet) - SPARINGLY (really - not much at all) sprinkle a mix of blues, greens and even a little yellow Brusho over the bubbles ... and wait PATIENTLY!! As the bubbles pop the Brusho lands on the paper and dries to look just like the foam itself - you may need to practice a few times - but it is really magical once you have mastered it. 😉🤩

Brush is great for intense colors and experimental painting. I have painted three 24 by 36 abstract color field paintings on gessoed canvas that turned out splendidly…and all three sold. Once dry,several applications of spray varnish, let dry then brush on an additional varnish.

Good morning Karen! Thank you so much for your KZbin tutorials. As a novice watercolor artist I am finding them so very helpful. Would you mind sharing your views on signing your paintings? On the lovely little card you’ve done in this tutorial you name your work, date, and sign it. Do you name all of your paintings? Do you date all of your paintings? When you make prints of an original painting, do you then number each print individually? I’ve tried to research this and there so much information out there that seems contradictory. Perhaps I’m putting too much thought to this. Could it simply be personal preference? Again, thank you so very much for sharing your talent. Have a wonderful day!!
@KarenRiceArt8 ай бұрын
Thank you so much. I signed all of my paintings and date them. I don’t always give them a title unless I enter them into an exhibition. I don’t sell prints of my work. However I know many artists have a limited number of prints and name them 1/… I’m not sure if they sign them originally though. However, I think I would.

@Aeronwen8133 жыл бұрын
I found a paint brush held too much Brusho powder so I changed to a wooden coffee stirrer which I dipped into the Brusho pot, gently tapped off the excess then tapped it onto my paper. I seemed to have a bit more control over it and didn't get so much contamination of other surfaces or parts of the paper. :-)). I suspect a wooden cocktail stick would also work in a similar way. Thank you for sharing your skills and ideas and for the tip about hand sanitizer. I've also found that Brusho 'lurks' around undissolved and can be reactivated if you accidentally touch it with paint or water, it will bleed through white gouache and white acrylic ink. Do you know of a way to 'fix' it? I wondered about Dorland wax ...
