Here's another moderately popular fitness supplement touted for its potential fat loss increase and performance boost: CARNITINE. Having connections to important fitness markers such as nitric oxide, lactate, and fatty acid transport, it certainly looks to be a major player. Whether supplementation is worth it, though, is another question.

Anyone who has actually used L-Carnitine would know it works in lower 2-4g dosages. Other than creatine and caffeine, the only supplements that actually work for me is citrulline mallate, beta alanine, and carnitine. When I added carnitine tartrate, I felt a noticeable increase in energy and a decrease in caffeine related jitters. I just purchased some alcar so we'll see if a combination of the two helps with fitness performance.

I'm 5 years late to the party but I doubt the studies cited used enough oral L-carnitine or any injected L-carnitine. This could really undermine their relevance as the bioavailability of L-carnitine is only 14% to 18%, and only mega-dosing, injection, or some other means of increased bioavailability could overcome this barrier. A good study of it's effects in the body would have to take this into account. I think that the reason there is so much pushback from people who have been mega-dosing or injecting L-carnitine is that for us it has been very effective at improving energy, endurance, and mood. Not to mention the strong clinical evidence, not mentioned here, that L-carnitine upregulates androgen receptors. It may not live up to all the hype in the manosphere, nothing does, but it certainly has some benefit, is safe, and is fairly cheap as well. I'd recommend people just try it for themselves.
@necrolyte1525
@necrolyte1525 2 жыл бұрын
My opinion would be that if what u stated were to be correct (assuming it is) then the only benefit could come from a placebo effect and nothing else... which is better than nothing. i mean the brain can trick itself to believe anything even that by taking some chemicals with no to minimal proven effect u get a mental boost and/or other positive illusions. When taking supplements it's vital to do so in moderating like anything in life balance is important.

Regardless of what others may say, if you have trouble getting your carb and protein intake high enough, mass gainers can be a huge benefit. BUT, aim for a 1:1 protein to carb ratio, calculate the amount of protein in a container, and compare it to the price of plain old whey. If it turns out your mass gainer is more expensive per kg/lb of protein then rather just buy protein and maltodextin and make your own. That said the mass gainer I'm currently using costs the same per kg of protein, but also contains the carbs I need, both from slow release and fast release sources, also contains 5g of creatine per serving, as well as 1/3rd of daily recommended vitamins. In cases like this a mass gainer makes a bunch of sense. Watch out for mass gainers that have far more carbs than protein tho, that's a waste of money.

Whenever I get home I normally grab a gum and start chewing and I haven't been snooping in the pantry as much in result... so idk if this would help at all but it did make me want to go to 7/11 more on bike and made me randomly eat less so move more eat less?

eating is always healthy for weight loss. it just depends on what your eating and when. if your eating less carb then you will feel less energized and to much protein and have fun in the bathroom. its a balance. losing weight isnt about eating more or less but rather routine and a caloric deficit. but eating less/more has no correlation to losing more weight.

If you are natural do multi muscle group splits or full body. Bro splits are mostly for people on gear. Doesn't work well long term for natural bodybuilders.

Ok so I started taking carnitine abot 4 weeks at the same time as I started this years bulk, with the idea that I'd like to stay a bit leaner than I did last year. The issue is that I think it's working too well. I have increased my calories by 700 now and I still havn't gained any weight. Where is all the extra food going? My question is can you build more muscle while on a fat burner but increasing your food intake? Or is it just counterproductive to do this?
@fifis101
@fifis101 3 жыл бұрын
@Munna Bhai Yeah everything worked out fine. I do think carnitine does have a small fat burning affect but I just needed more food. I need a fair bit more food than most.

Like is I were to do a bicep curl that utilises the biceps range of movement and muscle fibre direction to a bicep curl that is slightly off going to one side which as in instead of touching your bicep with the dumbbells you try to go to the left to make it more uncomfortable for the bicep I'm just asking if it's worth doing this with a bit lower weights or not because it's not optimizing the biceps muscle fibre direction so less of it can help out meaning more isolation of certain fibres in theroy? This can be applied to other exercises too im pretty sure
