I am a University student who don't know coding. My mother has been bugging me telling me all the time how children these days are learning coding in school. I know of coding and I have used Block codes through Blueprint in Unity and Unreal to make working games. I have also programmed robots to move using simple commands, normally just follow lines and to know when to switch sides for sharp bends. My biggest thought and question is that how do you know what coding to learn really. It's easy to compile them all into one category but from my experience they are all unique. The coding I did for the robot and my games are completely different and although they are both categorized as "code" I would say they are as different as flying a plane to driving a car. Both are operating a vehicle but a driver and a pilot are most certainly different. I don't really know what my point is here, I am just getting annoyed that people keep saying coding is the future despite me technically already making my own code technically (although in super easy applications). If anyone here is a actual programmer who makes websites or applications, games or anything, what do you consider coding as because I am just confused? If any command to a machine or software is coding, how do you categorize it or differentiate it? Does it even need to be differentiated as to me calling everything coding is really confusing for people who have no idea what coding is

But it's more than that. How does counting in binary activate and perform operations. Coding has been made easier by using recognizable words, but that takes another set of binary operations. I'd like to see how the first language was developed from scratch. Like Jobs first partner. He designed his own computer and wrote language for it.

Oh. I see. I am brand new to coding. I just started a program learning app. I have took some short lessons on Python. I am interested in game design. My school recently got into the Godot. Godot has its own language, which is similar to Python. So that is why I chose to learn Python over other languages. This one has a weird name. Why is it called that? That sounds like the name of a type of snake more than anything. It would be hilarious if there were other programming languages called Boa, Viper, Elapid and even Colubrid. I am a hardcore animal nerd. So I am familiar with the major groups of snakes. A python is more specifically a constricter that lives in the old world. In the Disney movie Jungle Book, Kaa is most likely a python. He is a really big one. That is the only fictional example I can think of, off the top of my head. I have noticed that coding is based on logic and detail. I write instructions, and the computer does what I say. That is nice in a way. Dealing with logic is so much easier than dealing with people. People have their emotions and etiquette. It is so ambiguous and chaotic. It is a pain to deal with at times. I like how clear and explicit coding is. It is sure easier than dealing with whatever people do. Even the details of coding has got to be easier. Details are easy to deal with. I had weird opinions about school. I think that science and math are easy classes. I think social studies is a bit harder. I think that English and foreign language are the hardest classes. Those are the ones that can really kick my butt. I think people really overestimate the difficulty of STEM. STEM isn't harder than other subjects. It is just different. It is more logical. I know about different snake groups. That goes into a science, which is in STEM. I have a tendency to learn computer stuff pretty easily. Coding seems so intimidating at first. However now I think it may not be so bad. I didn't know computers started in the textile industry. Weird.
