The reason a flat tax isn't fair is because the more money you make the more you rely on government investment from taxes to make the money, in fact it goes up astronomically the more you earn. Without roads, Internet and the electricity grid Jeff Bazos would have made exactly $0. Therefore, he should thank the government for every penny they let him keep. If you have a company that requires people with degrees, you are in debt to the entire education system etc.

That's one very good reason. The other is that low income money is spent on essential goods, high income on luxury. The biggest reason is that a flat tax hurts low income people exponentially more. It might sound fair, but in actuality it means that the highest earner would be paying .001% of their income while the poorest end up paying 90%+. At a flat rate, some people would be paying literally ALL their income on taxes. How are they even supposed to survive?
@leparfumdugrosboss42164 ай бұрын
@@Alex-cw3rz it's more about marginal utility. Counter intuitively, from the earner's perspective each dollar of a $2000 income has more value than each dollar of a $1.000.000 income.
@CatarinaStone4 ай бұрын
@@Gildedmuse it's a flat rate, not a flat fee. Meaning everyone pays whatever percentage, let's say 20% to go with the other example in this chain. So if someone makes $2000, they pay $400 and if they make $1.000.000 they pay $200.000. The thing is in the first case you're left with $1600 and in the other $800.000. But the minimum cost of living is the same so the 1600 might not be enough to meet your needs but even if the second case spends $100.000 on needs, they still have $700.000 left over

I had a question of when this deal first started and how long they were being paid before the DOJ found out?

Before the war it was much easier to fund this kind of thing, so my guess is around when ukraine repelled the invasion of their capital and Russia realized they were in for the long haul

The FBI had to have interviewed Pool, Rubi, Benny, and the rest of Tenet before they dropped an indictment. How long did they know the Feds were on to them, because they waited for an indictment before saying anything.

Bruh. And he's glazing people who'd see him and his husband imprisoned or publicly executed and their kids sent to White Christian families.

poor ppl will spend it right away because survival and living standard sake, but someone who already making half a mill is def gonna give that money to their financial advisor who will invest that money into top tech stock like Alphabet, but Alphabet will not hire more Eng or spend more on food at their campus cafeteria just cuz their stock goes up. that just facts of life.

The first question is: what is the ideal economy? What is the goal of a "great" economy? What about our present economic situation is not ideal? How good can an economy be and how long can any good economy remain at that state? Rubin is a simpleton dealing with a fairly complex issue in a simple way. He is focusing on appealing on people's greed and ignorance to pitch a tax scheme that would end up hurting the most vulnerable and increasing the wealth gap.

Wealthy business people use more of the services we all pay for than the average person. Therefore they should pay a higher tax rate. It is that simple.
