Friends with the guys at AWG. Been flying DCS since 2020. It has advanced greatly. Many of us have invested thousands of dollars in the combat simulation. Most lose interest because it's treated as a game, not a combat simulation. I invested in new HOTAS system, rudder pedals, and flight seat. Built my own system in the summer of 2023. I enjoy the enhancements with DCS, even though we always get frustrated, we enjoy it.

Great video! Way back when I looked at DCS and thought I don't really understand what that's all about and moved on, took me a few years to get round to trying it. It all looks very formidable at first from the outside, I think this will be a great help to aspiring DCS pilots.

Outstanding summary, the best I've ever seen! What I also love about DCS is that it covers a massive time period. You can fly WW2 warbirds, Korean war, Cold war jets, or 80s-90s modern air combat, all within the same sandbox.

Thanks Bogey Dope for attracting more folks to join us in DCS, helping to grow our DCS community.. Always enjoy your videos as it was your tutorials that got me up and running in the f-16 and F-18 back in 2022, so thanks for that as well Sir. Cheers!

Great video and as a DCS veteran great to see you are being a true DSC champion stepping up and bringing new players into our world, at a time when the space is full of negativity. Can’t wait to see more and really hope anyone on the fence jumps in as it’s worth the effort. Also hopefully this may spark a fresh round of module tutorials as think that’s been missing of late, starting a fresh just as you are doing here. Thanks

Exactly what the community needs to pull in the new players, I think it is great to highlight it is only 60$ USD to be playing 11 aircraft on multiplayer servers. Most titles push $75 or more for a new game and in game purchases are crazy expensive. Super idea of a series looking forward to it!

As much as we love DCS, it’s easy to forget how inaccessible it is for newcomers. Make sure you continue to highlight how good campaigns are because most of the online community (Hoggit) are very multiplayer biased, and incredibly useless when it comes to singleplayer. Also, be sure everyone knows that contrary to popular belief, DCS is really not overpriced or expensive at all. A FF aircraft, map and campaign (on sale) is the same price as a AAA game, and ED have sales constantly. Anyway, thank you, this is perfect and I wish it existed years ago. Amazing work as always, welcome back and happy new year BD!

Great Video. I'm going to make one little revision to a statement you made when speaking about what you can do with the Free Aircraft and Terrain Maps. Yes you get 2 free aircraft, one shoots one doesn't Plus 2 Terrain Maps. However you do NOT need to purchase Aircraft Modules to fly in the Other Terrain Maps (that must be purchased) UNLESS you want to fly in Multiplayer. You can buy all the Terrain Maps you want and only ever fly the free planes but IF you want to fly in Multiplayer then you must buy other aircraft modules. Again, thanks for the great video. Hope you don't mind my addition.
@BogeyDope16 сағат бұрын
I'm not sure I follow. I have flown the SU-25T in many multiplayer servers. Growling Sidewinder's public server has 4 SU-25T slots you can take. I believe Shadow Reapers public server has 38 SU-25T slots available. You don't have to buy any other aircraft modules to fly in multiplayer. You also say "you do NOT need to purchase Aircraft Modules to fly in the other terrain maps". Where did I say that? Are you referring to when I said that campaigns require the aircraft that the campaign is modeled around? I'm confused. I may be misunderstanding? Let me know.

Having started with F15C and Su25T and jumped to the uh1/a10/f16/18/ah64 (soon tobe f15e)modules let me tell you this game will drag you down the rabbithole. I am not the guy to learn easily but with all the guide out there and people to teach you while flying it has been a breeze. The past 10 months i gathered way to many hours on dcs. And learned way more i did in school back in day. Make time and you'll fly full fidelity modules in a few weeks time dripping warheads on foreheads with ease. DCS is a game you will not regret spending money on.

Love the video concept, but dude, no mention of the A-4E? It's my go-to for trying to introduce people into DCS. Its level of complexity is high enough to be interesting but not high enough to be intimidating. It's an awesome mod, and the built-in manual is second to none. Plus, with just a game pad, you can start playing for free!

As a hardcore simmer of DCS since 2016, I warn anyone who wants to enter this black hole created by Eagle Dynamics. You will invest piles of money and time, which may not be worth it unless you have tons of those most important resources. ED is the most horribly chaotic developer in the gaming industry. Be very careful about it! I have invested a lot of money in numerous hardware upgrades, and I own almost all the aircraft, maps, and campaigns in the ED shop. Be very, very careful!

You did put way too much emphasis on multiplayer. When I was just curious about DCS I still wouldn't be into it after this. You went on and on about servers but just a passing mention of single player and then only about purchasing campaigns ignoring the large number of free campaigns and missions and even the free dynamic campaigns like Liberation and Retribution. Also disagree with the Flaming Cliffs being as fun as full fidelity. Buying the flaming cliffs package is the biggest regret I have of any purchase with DCS.
@BogeyDope9 сағат бұрын
This is the intro to a full series. As I mentioned in the beginning, there will be a full video dedicated to single player, a full video dedicated to free mods and campaigns, one on liveries, one dedicated to multiplayer, etc. I did not want to make a 2hr long video going over every aspect of DCS. So, I'm splitting it up into a series. Again, this was just the intro.
