For DeSCI to attract investors, it would have to promise a relatively fast return on investment. But most basic science, which is probably the most important science, is funded by the government since it, unlike private investors, does not need a fast turnaround on its investment. So, I would guess that DeSCI would only attract investors for research that has a quick return on investment, not the important but slow process of basic research.

So, how will a crypto token accrue value from these projects? Investing in science and medical companies is notoriously difficult, if your aim is to make money. Add lack of transparency in the market and the overall risk of the crypto. It sounds like a complete gamble.

Fantastic video. There's also TRIALL which puts medical records on chain. It was recently adopted by the Mayo Clinic. However, it has been dumping hard recently - not sure why. It ould be a good opportunity.

The shortfalls you mentioned may be valid but creating shit tokens and saying we're "decentralised" isn't the solution. Scammers trying to make money peddling tokens to investors and make boat loads of money is the only objective of these "desci" projects. We're grown

I think you're jumping to conclusions without actually looking into any of these projects. Also I think you maybe don't quite understand the benefits of tokens (although clearly understand the potential downfalls). Issuing stock is a great way for a company to raise funds, however only the richest and wealthiest elite have the privilege or raising funds that way. It's an insanely expensive and difficult process. Issuing tokens is easy and cheap, which is a double sided sword. That means scammers can spin up a token and make millions, true. However it also means entrepreneurs with great ideas that previously didn't have access to capital can now raise funds at a level they never could've before. They also are raising funds from people all over the world, people who previously couldn't access early stage opportunities like this because that too is typically reserved for only the elite. The scams overtime will be eroded away, markets grow and evolve to become more and more sophisticated overtime. In 2017 the dumbest ideas with ZERO utility but simply a whitepaper raised hundreds of millions of dollars. In 2021 that happened for sure as well, but alongside for the first time were a handful of actually useful and compelling ideas that delivered on their vision and are revenue generating protocols today. Next cycle there will be even more good ideas and even less bad, that's how it works. DeSci is maybe one of the coolest use cases for crypto there is. Great way to raise funds for interesting ideas, great way to document research and contribution transparently and a great way to coordinate. Crypto at it's core is about social coordination at a mass scale and replacing legacy system managed by people with trustless code.

Tysvm for this video…for the 1st time ever I hear about crypto projects that I don’t even want to make $ off of…what I mean is, my strategy is a little bit different then yours as mine relies heavily upon FAMCO’s success and the accumulation of as much BTC as possible before the next bull run…if successful and my tertiary investments in diversified real world assets is subsequently adequately funded like Fleamint Marketplace & deHedge, then I’ll certainly be extremely wealthy at that point & seeing as how I studied Molecular Biology in college and the only aspect of science that I have not only an issue with but a huge one at that, encompasses those things discussed in your video, I would gladly start a non-profit that I self-fund just to sponsor many of those DESCI projects you brought to our attention that I didn’t even know existed and address what I consider the biggest issues in science to date! I’m super stoked to come to the knowledge and insights that you have presented and plan to research these things heavily before I achieve the means to make significant contributions!
