Diarrhea, also spelled diarrhoea, is the condition of having at least three loose or liquid bowel movements each day. It often lasts for a few days and can result in dehydration due to fluid loss. Signs of dehydration often begin with loss of the normal stretchiness of the skin and irritable behaviour. This can progress to decreased urination, loss of skin color, a fast heart rate, and a decrease in responsiveness as it becomes more severe. Loose but non-watery stools in babies who are exclusively breastfed, however, are normal.
The most common cause is an infection of the intestines due to either a virus, bacteria, or parasite - a condition also known as gastroenteritis.[2] These infections are often acquired from food or water that has been contaminated by feces, or directly from another person who is infected. The three types of diarrhea are: short duration watery diarrhea, short duration bloody diarrhea, and persistent diarrhea (lasting more than two weeks).The short duration watery diarrhea may be due to an infection by cholera, although this is rare in the developed world. If blood is present it is also known as dysentery. A number of non-infectious causes can result in diarrhea. These include lactose intolerance, irritable bowel syndrome, non-celiac gluten sensitivity, celiac disease, inflammatory bowel disease, hyperthyroidism, bile acid diarrhea, and a number of medications.In most cases, stool cultures to confirm the exact cause are not required.

Coincidently, watching this video (and the reason BECAUSE I watched this!) is that I currently have had diarrhoea for about four days now. It is not bloody but mostly urgent (uncontrollable violent diarrhoea). I have had one public accident and one in bed in my sleep. Had to change my sheets still sick and weak, EMBARRASSING! It's NO fun! It started out mushy with small bits of food, then now progressed to mostly watery. Tannish in colour. I tried anti-diarrhoeals, they simply DON'T WORK! I saw a doctor and he did get a blood and stool test. Turns out the blood test came back negative but the stool test positive for a rare Rotavirus-B (sometimes called 'adult rotavirus'). Oh yes, my gut is noisy and it has felt like breakdancing has been going on down there! (i.e. painful intestinal cramps).I suppose I have to just let it run its course! (Initially vomited only twice). I also been experiencing malaise, muscle aches, and a small headache as well. No fever or chills………. BTW, Diarrhoea is NOT an illness per se, it isonly a SYMPTOM from either an illness, structural damage, or such as in my own case, a FUNCTIONAL DISORDER!

Man I'm glad I'm not one of the millions of people who die of diarrhoea each year. Makes my diarrhoea seem harmless and kind of silly because I was stupid enough to eat food that had gone bad.

I have been suffering from for past 2 months.😢 1) mushy stools(unformed) that have undigested food with strange odor 2) It happens 2-3 times a day 3) White mucus most of the time 4) Farting a lot But not any other symptoms like any types of pain or blood in the stool or any other symptoms at all not even a little. I ate a lot of taco Bell, Spicy food, Fizzy drinks I regret it so much as of now I have severe diarrhea and constipation. But my diarrhea is runny 😥 so its hard for me to do my business in the toilet. Update: It's 5am I can't go sleep I legit keep getting up every 30 min to go the toilet and nothing happens): Edit: I decided I had enough and pushed so hard until it came out all of it it felt like I was giving birth it was so good when it finished

Yeah, me again! Once again I currently now of this writing havd a severe case of bloody diarrhoea (stool colour is mahagony or a reddish brown -- NOT pure red!) I also had vomited a few times, have had a headache, feel malaise (lack of energy) muscle aches, gut pain and cramping and well… just feel out of it! I have been ill for just over a WEEK and still no signs of recovery, so I struggled to get to a GP and had a blood test (came out negative) and a stool sample taken. That came up positive for Campylobacter Jejuni thus I have been diagnosed with Campylobacteriosis that can last from 2 to 10 days. So I may be one of the unlucky ones to be down with this bug for the full ten days, I just don't know yet. I have been given a prescription for Ciprofloxin andto get (OTC) some ibuprofin for the gut pain. Hope these work. I had taken my first round of Cipro just shortly before writing this comment, I only hope this works! This has been one of my worst illnesses! NO fun! I have had some very embarrassing and dramatic public diarrhoea accidents. NO fun!

Never underestimate slightly old food in the fridge. I pushed the 5-day rule recently with spaghetti sauce I had in a tub that had thawed. Left it in the fridge too long. Paid the price royally at 4am. Now I would not recommend this all the time for all types of diarrhea, but sometimes an enema can wipe it all out in one sitting so you aren't going back and forth constantly. It worked well on the sauce situation. I woke up and knew something was in need of removal from my body. My stomach was also echoing this. And screaming, "this is happening right NOW." Anyway, stuff like food poisoning or something WAY worse...well probably shouldn't enema that out but if you're dealin with a known pathogen you digested and want it removed quickly...go the enema route. Saved me some time and multiple trips. It was "one of those" in the making.

I usually have diarrhea if I eat too much takis or hot cheatos with or without water , who else 🙋 Sep 29 had ate hot chips with a lot of water my ass burns bruh Sep 30 you know your boy got hot cheetos but today is not as bad. I have had diarrhoea from Campylobacter Jejuni,and from a parasite Dientroamoebiasis as wel. I normally have frequent bouts of diarrhoea (along with gut pain gas and vomiting) from IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease) such as Crohn's since I was ten years old.Just a about a decade ago. When this will end is anyone's guess as there is no cure for Crohn's Disease. I have generally mild to moderate episodes (relapses or flare-ups).Before I joined C&CUK I now have a 'Radar Key' allowing me special access to toilets not generally for public access.
