There's a very simple reason why house music is most commonly 128 bpm. Divide 128 by 4, to get 32 measures/bars per minute. Intro for 8 bars (0:00 - 0:15) Verse for 16 bars (0:15 - 0:45) Build up for 8 bars (0:45 - 01:00) And therefore, the actual drop is _exactly_ at 01:00 (one minute). Although not many 128 bpm tracks actually do this exactly. Sometimes the drop is actually earlier, or later. What is true however, is that at exactly 01:00, it will most likely be the beginning of a measure (that is not counting any silence at the beginning of the track obviously).

before EDM there was seperate genre...but now EDM just combine all these types of music into 1..kinda like rock..rock has alot of sub genre from heavy to alternate to garage..
@niemand7811 Жыл бұрын
There were always separate genres in electronic music. It is funny that you think the invention of the acronym "EDM" changed anything. Oh it did change a thing. It brought the frat boys to electronic musis, making low key producers justify selling their low tier crap now for high ticket prices. That joke is on you if you ever attent such festivals.

EDM is just a business. The main idea is to sell. It can not be compared to trance. EDM is very simple music. It's like taking any song and add some synth and that's all. Nothing to do with real electronic music.

Trance is danceable electronic music. Danceable Electronic music is electronic dance music. Electronic dance music is EDM. Trance is EDM. I reject the notion that EDM is its own genre, separate from all other genres of electronic dance music.

Thank you for being an excellent presenter. This video topic was very useful. While looking at vendor guides, I did not find definitions of EDM or IDM. Your video came up during my research. FYI Please improve your microphone placement to eliminate the "distant" sound. Rode sells a powered DSLR hot shoe mic that should help. It's under $200. You may also want to invest in a green screen and second camera. See Guy Michelmore's channel for examples of multiple cameras and microphones. He is a film music composer.

Hate to be that guy but yeah, Skrilllex was late to Dubstep. Dubstep comes out of the death rattle of the U.K. Garage scene. Check out El-B, Zed Bias, Horsepower Productions for the dark 2step that would influence the Dubstep sound. And then the first wave Dubstep artists like Skream, Benga, Mala, Coki, Loefah. But if you’re looking for bright shiny EDM you won’t be in luck

There is one thing off in the first line you say: EDM is "one kind of electronic music". Well this is weird. Before the word "dance" was shoved in between electronic and music (electronic music) enough people knew you can dance to it. But for some oddball commecial decisions,the people behind this new marketing trick thought that rockmusic party dudes need to get that right too? Right? Why did they even attract the attention of these Phonies? Money. so they told teenagers and young adults not interested in electronic music that: "Hey folks, you can party hard to this stuff too. You know? Yeah. Now you know. Come here and party hard to some electronic DANCE music." EDM is so neither a catch all term for all electronic music genres, nor is it a kind of electronic music. EDM is a commercially branded fad. A social bomb that needs to detonate "PARTY" into everyone's face. And as the years have been passing by, I saw it all. Whatever ruined the Techno scenen in Europe and Germany during the 90s, it now ruined the Techno scene elsewhere AND in Europe again because this rave parade bullshit,as we were glad we survived it, just came awash with the new American oriented fad. Damn was I mad when this happened. And I'mstill disappointed that people within actual electronic music cultures and subcultures had to suffer through it all over again like I had to. So EDM is literally (still) this party clown activity. People are being stupid about it. People get rubber rafted by the stage clowns like Aoki or fed with cake live on camera. Oh boy what a circus number. And the frat boy who got the cake, he really came to that festival just for this moment, wasting his time there otherwise. But let's talk actual genres, alright? Here we go: Indian Summer: what is that? I've heard some mellow tunes by Moby during the 90s and his stuff is still good to go. But this tune there, indian summer is just cringe. Not even genre abiding or defining. So we do not talk about genres but BPM counts instead, which is not genre defining at all. Techno, Trance and house music can have different phalanxes of BPM counts. There are 24 or more sub genres to psytrance alone. Just saying. so you left out any example pieces to listen to. Clever. Because now you can talk away without getting corrected on your tracks chosen since you chose non. Is this video even real now?
@wolterzz32673 ай бұрын
It's clear you don't know what you're talking about. EDM is a collective name for all percussive and danceable electronic music. Basically what she explains in the video. Aoki is a House artist, and House is a form of EDM.
