So validating. I needed a competent hip replacement and needed weeks of processing the loss of that piece of me that was integral to my history...that supported my babies when I did the one arm hip wedge support while cooking or whatever. Most people didn't understand my emotional grief at relinquishing that trusty part of myself. It was a complex blend of feelings.
