did you prime the canvas with something first? maybe it would look great just raw too, the canvas fabric would soak up a lot of the water. i’ve been learning about a lot of the conservation issues with gouache too because it’s so sensitive to light- i’m not sure if it would hold up long term on canvas :/ this was a cool experiment please update if the painting changes at all (ex: starts to crack) or if you try another experiment with it i’m so curious!

Thank you this question. After trying this out and manipulated the canvas after a few days, I noticed a few cracks. The painting will not hold up well in the long run.It’s actually best to stick with using gouache on the appropriate paper. I will talk about this more in an upcoming video. But hope this answers your question for now 😊

hi, i'm interested in your gouache system. Did you squeeze tubes into a plastic holder and then you spray them with water when you paint?

Hello, I actually got them off Amazon it came in the plastic holder. It’s currently unavailable, but here’s a link to the one I’m using a.co/d/dbfUv4J. This is the Himi gouache quite similar to the Arrtx one a.co/d/aVmMJpf. They dry up quickly, that’s why I sprayed them a few times while painting. 😊
