Can a Chiropractor help this condition? Only thing that helps me is castor oil poultice on my lower back with a far infared heating pad.

What medication is best for this illness, I think I have it in the thorasic area, had it now over ten years, I've had scans that showed shallow spurs...
@lynnreed3251 Жыл бұрын
This is not a medication, but radio frequency ablation of the nerves at these joints gives me a lot of relief. The nerves eventually grow back, but the procedure can be repeated.
@FatNinjaTurtle Жыл бұрын
@@lynnreed3251 I’m getting this done in a few weeks, how long is the recovery from the RFA procedure? And does the pain come back at full force or does it gradually come back when the nerve has repaired itself?
@bigoldgrizzly9 ай бұрын
@@FatNinjaTurtle Recovery for me was virtually instant. I have found the procedure pretty much pain free and after a couple of days on 'light duties' and I am back to normal. I am on my third set of ablations for lumbar facet joints and they last me around 18 months . As the nerves grow back I have a slow ramping up of pain over a few weeks, and sadly, the usual delay getting the procedure repeated. I have a lot of other pain from damage throughout the spine and I get, overall, about a one third reduction in overall back pain after this procedure ...... from my point of view, that is well worth it and very welcome. I had quite a few years of cortico-steroid injections at the facet joints every 2-3 months which gave great relief so when they did come to do the ablations, they were at least sure which joints the pain was coming from.
@nateo2008 ай бұрын
For me it does come back with a vengencence but you can have it repeated usually yearly. Unfortunately insurance may be iffy for some depending on if you have it on one side or both sides. I got about 7-8 months of relief. Had it done on C4-5-6 on both sides although my left side was the worst side. Also have some disc issues.@@FatNinjaTurtle

Finally! A medical pro who actually pronounced the word "facet" properly! I can't believe how many doctor's videos I've watched where the doctor mispronounces a word that has been in the English language for hundreds of years, and defined by Noah Webster in the early 1800's! Good grief doctors and all would be doctors: It's pronounced " fa'--sit" with the "a" having a sound as in "cat". And the first syllable gets the accent! Not the second! Anyway, I was just reading a recent MRI report of my lumbar spine, and it said, among other problems; that I have "facet arthropathy", which is why I came here! Thank-you! Apparently doctors have little English language and grammar training.

I'd never heard it pronounced that way until I started browsing KZbin for more information. Maybe there are places where that's the way they say it? Just had RFA done on my left side cervical. That pain is nearly gone but now the OTHER side is acting up. Guess I'll be going through it all again. And there's some sort of time limitation on how close together the treatments can be. Arthritis sucks.
