I'm a little confused because I had bad and slow sectors on my 16Gb flash stick, I force wrote over those sectors inverting from 0-1 repeatedly until it worked again. I thought this is only possible with magnetic storage. If the transistors die with usage, why were mine restored? Really weird.

Nice video but doesn't actually explain how nand memory works, i'm guessing it's some kind of magnetized p/n process? also does anyone know why it oxides why is oxygen present in the semiconductor? Update:Literally took me 10 minutes to work out how it works, its n-/p/n-n+ , they need to replace the missing ions to stop the degradation it won't matter what material the floating gate is made out of it will always degrade no matter what and making it smaller will speed up the degradation

What is the difference? Flash memory & M. Card
@MicrochipTechnology2 жыл бұрын
Hi Xmo Kuc, A memory card is a small storage device that stores data on portable or remote electronic devices. It uses flash, a nonvolatile semiconductor memory. There are generally three types of flash memory cards: SD cards, compact flash cards, and USB thumb sticks. Flash memory is also used in solid-state drives (SSD), but those aren’t classified as memory cards. Let us know if this helps.

IF you have a Flash memory IC,2Mb (256kx8) can you swap it for a bigger space?
@MicrochipTechnology3 жыл бұрын
@Nothing - For serial NOR Flash, the answer is yes. Just make sure you are sending enough address bytes to address the larger number memory map addresses.
